It is open again! Best chips in Colchester, and I am very fussy over my chips. I have only ordered once since they have opened after lockdown and they are as good as ever. However the portion sizes are smaller.

Our fish and chips was superb. The fish and chips were cooked to order. The portion of chips was large and the food very enjoyable. Highly recommend a visit.

Lovely fish and chips.
Well staffed
Clean and efficient
And they have a card machine!
Which is rare round these parts to be honest.
Its great food.
But a big plus is being able to pay buy card.
It s more proffesional and you know are a fair buisness
Too many cash only takeaways round here...

Very disappointing. Portion size of chips was weak to say the least. Staff were quite rude and abrupt. Very expensive. This place has gone down the pan from where it was in past times. 2 stars

Felt the need to share a review after buying fish and chips from here over 4 or so years, around 6 times a year
Comparing this establishment to others, I would say they are by far one of the best in Essex.
I really enjoy my fish and chips by the coast and I always have my favorites but it is very hard to find a good piece of fresh fish cooked in a crispy fresh batter when not in a seaside town.
One of the worst for me was in Tiptree.
This is one of the reasons for writing this tonight.
I have never ever had a bad meal from here. My fish is tasty, enjoyable and the fish melts in your mouth with a lovely crispy batter that isn't flat and hard.
I would have given 5 stars, but we ordered a large sausage with chips for my daughter which was nearly £3 just for the sausage, but they were 2 very small thin sausages that resembled chipolata. If they run out, at least tell the customer there's something different!
Plus we ordered 2 cod and 1 small chips and 1 large chips which were both small, but that didn't bother me. But to ask for a large sausage, no batter and to get 2 chipolata type plain cheap sausage and not be told this is what we are getting is where I think good customer service comes in.
I understand costs have gone to for businesses, but for customers too.
I really want to go back to Nindys but I really appreciate good customer relations too.
I felt it a bit sly, when everyone is working and hungry and you accept what's given.
Also my husband was standing there when a man came in and was served before my husband.
Great food, not so great customer service. 5 stars on the fish, 3 stars on everything else so I've met in the middle.
Honesty best policy, hence why I've wrote this.

Great fish and chips, good size portions. Fast service. Limited parking but you never have to wait long for a space. Would definitely recommend.

Seriously. What kind of food service closes at 14.30 to 16.30 every weekday afternoon??

You're closed literally EVERYTIME I finish work and would like some chips on my way home.

Utterly useless closing period.
