The facilities are excellent and will more than satisfy a keep fit fanatics needs.
Even though I have never actually had any dealings with the instructors they are very friendly and helpful when asked for advice or help.
The ladies in reception are always very welcoming with a smile on their face when you arrive, and when you leave.
The gym itself isn't huge, but you can always grab a piece of equipment whilst waiting for another.
The swimming pool is wonderful, and with an awesome jacuzzi for afterwards (plus a steam room and sauna!) you can chill and relax.
The gym area itself is cramped, but has a good variety of machines. There's a mix of classes, but the communication over them is poor: The timetable online is out of date, and there seems to be no reliable structure for classes being covered in an instructor's absence, or for notifying students of cancelled classes, not even a post-it on the studio door.
The building itself is aged, the sauna walls are rotting, floorboards in the studio give noticeably, and it usually takes a couple of attempts to find a working locker. I am suspicious of what the dim lighting in the pool area hides, but have actually found the facilities to generally be clean.
The free personal training sessions are hard to book, being limited in time slots, and being so high in demand they can only be booked a week in advance. The price of membership is reasonable, and the staff are friendly.
The gym suited my needs, and I'll be returning should I find myself working in Leamington again, but, really, I expect better.
As mentioned, the ceiling leaks often which is often disconcerting when laying on the mats and getting a lovely drip from the ceiling in your face. Most machines need some serious TLC. The one redemption could be the pool, but with most of the showers out of action and the steam room closed, would this really be justified?
Again, staff are lovely but only interact with them while handing my card over when I go in.
Definitely DO NOT recommend.
The gym is dirty and poorly managed but unfortunately this is the best you can find in Leamington Spa.
Most of the machines are old or did not receive proper maintenance over time, thus do not expect precision when working out.
Management takes ages to fix faulty machines or to do general maintenance.
Took them +1 week to fix the only fly machine available in the gym (this happened a couple of times over a 3 months period) and 3 weeks to have the soap dispensers replaced in the shower room. You don't really want to ask liquid soap to the guy showering next to you.
The handles for the cable machines are overused and you will never find them where they are supposed to be, as there is not much staff around and they tidy the place up whenever they can.
There are no resistance bands or any kind of stretching tool available anywhere in the gym. Not a big deal bringing mine from home, but this should be quite a basic service to offer.
Management allow their customers to drink water from the water dispenser using plastic glasses, so do not be surprised when you find dozens empty (and not) left all over the place. Feels more like someone had a picnic in the gym and forgot to collect their garbage.
The floor is dusty and full of topsoil (people use their daily shoes to train, brilliant), even and especially on the stretching mattes, which confirm the picnic experience.
During winter air-con is working at full power especially in the strength room. Not a good thing especially if you train early in the morning (as much as 8.30 can be defined "early")
For the service they offer i think £50 a month is unfair.
