Tried the restaurant at Palmers Garden centre today. I love a nice omelette and when I saw they had it on the menu for breakfast and lunch I was sold.
I have to say it was quite lovely and not milky. I really hate when they add a ton of milk. It was served with a side salad too. The only criticism is that they cooked it without any salt at all. A small pinch makes all the difference, it should never be completely saltless.
The restaurant has a good selection of english breakfast, omelettes, paninis, burgers, several salads and cakes. There's ample space with a huge seating area. Staff is nice and friendly.
The garden centre has a great selection of outdoor plants and supplies but I found it a bit lacking for indoor plants and cacti. Brimstone garden centre has a much nicer and varied indoor display. I don't have a garden so I'm always more interested in indoor greenery.
We'll probably be back for more omelette, and recommend the restaurant to try.

Went with mother in law who is in a wheelchair. The route to the cafe was a challenge because the gas between display tables were too narrow to get through. It took a couple of attempts to get through. Tables in the cafe are close too but it's easier to see where to go. Lovely coffee though

The toast was not toasted it was just bread , freid eggs were hard - asked for well done bacon , just got the round bits only and the fat was white and flappy like it had been sat in one of those trays you get at cheap buffets - our food arrived and we still not had our drinks ( only ordered two bottles of juice so they didn't have to be made) was not offered any sauces etc just walked away had to go get them - I would rather pay more money for good quality but this is a very expensive place that doesn't serve very good quality food. - the one star is for the garden centre- the garden centre is lovely just don't eat at the cafe - I would recommend they gey two different pages otherwise the cafe will bring the other down

The coffee and tea were fine.
When my bacon sandwich turned up, I exclaimed "£6 for that?" The waiter ignored me and walked away. The bread was thin, and damp, with spread, not butter. The bacon was ok. For £6 I would expect a premium bacon sandwich.
My Mums £7 poached eggs were also a huge disappointment. Again, it looked unappealing and the eggs were overcooked.

My mate and I often pop into Palmers for a breakfast or a cuppa, and to be fair it’s not the cheapest in town, but it’s worth it because the staff are always welcoming, in particular Lacey and Ellie who lead from the front and are always friendly.

Arrived at restaurant at 1150 and ordered soup and 2 dinners.
Dinners arrive without soup ? Was apologized too and cold soup arrived.
Manager stating we are not that kind or establishment and told staff not to do again.
Dinners arrived again order wrong no cauliflower on one no potatoes on the other.
Manager was very rude no PPE on and long hair all over the place while talking to staff never once washing hands between any thing touched. Gravey spoon fell into gravey they fished it out with tongs and proceeded to use how many hands on not recommended at all due mostly to lack lustre staff and incredibly rude manager and lack of hygeine

Enjoying my breakfast at time of typing. Good service and lovely food on a very busy day but sadly prices are climbing. On the plus side, toast is back as part of the breakfast offering.

My Wife and I have been have been visiting this restaurant to meet up with relatives for lunch who live in Wiscombe and we in Dorchester many times. The food and service have never been less than excellent, the whole place is clean, the staff are smart and well organised, no wonder it is so popular and so is their fish restaurant next door which we have also visited and is equally well run. These two restaurants are not small by any means and I think each can seat over 200 the garden centre cafe being the larger and therefore requires good organisation. We shall certainly be visiting again very soon.
