The Horse & Jockey

We went here for Sunday lunch with our group of 10 friends, we were seated on a square table, which was great as we could all talk to each other.
The service was excellent, very friendly staff, the food was delicious, everyone of us enjoyed it!
We will definitely be back

The restaurant is lovely, we like the design. During our visit the atmosphere could have been better, we were seated by two couples whose conversations overwhelmed the whole area. 🙄😒
The food was lovely and nicely presented. It was a long wait for the starter and the main and the bill. We had to walk up to the bar because no one came to take the payment.

We've been here three times to date and every visit has been as good as the last, we were well looked after by the lovely staff, everyone that waits here is very, very good at their job. There has to be a Michelin star chef because all the food we had and saw served was delightful. Go there and try it, you won't be disappointed. Thank you to all staff.

In a word “fabulous”, this place is so warm & inviting with lovely decor in both the bar & restaurant. The staff are friendly but very efficient & couldn’t be more helpful. The food was superb, cooked just right & good portions. So very impressed with this pub/ restaurant & will certainly visit again soon

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Found pub on our route along the Ashby Canal. Friendly staff. Highly recommend. Chicken, Chorizo and Leek Pie was exceptional 😊

Booked here again for our pre Christmas meal, nice and busy, great homely atmosphere. Staff are excellent, polite and attentive, food first class, well cooked, fresh and hot, given current circumstances prices are good we feel. And was so nice to finish eating and go sit by a roaring fire, cannot fault this place for 2 or a family. Thank-you to the staff for a lovely afternoon

Having taken a punt on a new pub for a friends get together I was very pleasantly surprised. It was a busy bustling pub and I expected mediocre standard pub fare but the menu was very varied and had great 2 course for £20 options on the day we visited. The table we were sat at was perfect for 8 of us to all chat to each other and the staff friendly and attentive. The food was really good, tasted freshly prepared with care and beyond my expectations of normal."gastro pub grub". We would definitely like to visit again, especially as a larger group.
