Lovely special meal out. Seafood starter lovely. Shared between 2 and still plenty, so watch out when ordering. Even the smaller portion main meal was plenty and good value. Very creative desert in a bag👍

Party of 4 all had the carvery and dessert for 20.00 each! Good home cooked food brilliant service. We had to change seats as was uncomfortable for my mum who is disabled they were very helpful plus a waitress carried her plate back to the table for her. We highly recommend this place and shall be back to try another dish!

Enjoyed a fantastic meal, after a tough race day, the atmosphere was very warm and friendly, the staff were excellent and would certainly recommend.

Been a couple of times for their Sunday Carvery and the front of house staff were very welcoming. The choice of meats and veg was impressive, piping hot and of very good quality. The value vs price makes it a place I'd revisit in the future. The large carvery chains across the UK put me off Sunday lunches many years ago however the Black Horse has me motivated again.

Food was amazing. Best steak 🥩 I've had for years. Big starter's so beware if you can't eat a big starter and main meal. Staff fantastic and friendly.

Had a vegetarian Sunday roast here, I would recommend getting there earlier as it gets a bit cold over time as it’s buffet style. There was quite a lot of it but it did lack flavour as everything was buffet style so more quantity over quality. Didn’t realise desert was included, wouldn’t recommend the vegan dessert as it wasn’t great, I couldn’t eat it really and would have preferred not to have it included for a smaller cost. Overall, I would say it was okay but I will probably try somewhere else for Sunday roast as I prefer more flavour and a hotter meal and also would like dessert to be optional rather than included as the price reflects both courses. I would have rated slightly less but the staff were really friendly and that was a nice bonus. I’ve heard good things about the pub food on weekdays so will return for a drink and food sometime again :-)
