The Miners Sling

Enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch here at the start of July. I had the vegetable and goats cheese crumble and it was exceptional - huge portion and full of flavour. Everyone in the group enjoyed their meal thoroughly. Love that they're championing local produce throughout.

Erm, wow! Best roast dinner I have had in ages! I regularly go for a pub roast and am disappointed by the prices and quality so the Butcher's Block Roast at the Miners was a refreshing change. A hefty portion of 'carve your own' meat is served to the table, with all the trimmings and cooked perfectly. The staff are also super friendly and managed service with a smile despite the heatwave

We had a wonderful meal here. Some interesting dishes that were presented in a lovely manner and tasted delicious. All using locally sourced ingredients. The service was excellent with courteous staff who were attentive throughout the evening. All this and reasonable prices too. Very convenient if you are staying at Forest Holidays site and will definitely be a return visit next time we are here.

Once again a fantastic Sunday lunch today. Delicious roast pork and perfectly roasted pink beef with a tasty selection of vegetables. Excellent generous portions.
The service as usual friendly and very professional.

Best roast beef that I have ever had in a pub. The way they serve it on a platter and you carve it yourself at the table is brilliant. We got a slab of sirloin over an inch thick for two that was perfectly cooked. Pink and cut like butter! It was so good. Compliments to the chef. Superb. And I very rarely post reviews but felt like I had to today

Lovely place with good food and the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly.
When we went it was almost empty but by the time we left it was busy and clearly a popular lunch location.
Would recommend a visit if you are passing by, if only to try the boar bacon!

Wow just wow, a wonderful rustic little pub, amazing food and staff are such an amazing team.
Warm and friendly plus super good at thier jobs.
They fitted our whole wedding party of 25 people in at very short notice.

What a great place - fantastic, freshly made meals (I had the steak suet pie), really friendly service. Our first visit, but our friends had been quite a few times and always love it. If staying in the Forest of Dean area, eat here.
