Thursday night the worse meal I’ve ever been served!
Burnt chips and over cooked cod. Cod was rock solid and inedible. No apology from the manager.
The one star is for my husbands meal. Didn’t stay for pudding and won’t be going back.
So disappointing and embarrassed also shocked that a chef would even think this was ok to be served to a customer.

we both had the fillet steak. Mine was medium rare and my guest was medium. The steak was the best steak I have had in my entire life. It was absolutely exceptional, beautifully cooked, absolutely melt in the mouth and having been a chef for the first part of my career, I have to say I cannot remember when I had a steak better than this.
The dessert I had the blackcurrant mousse, which was also absolutely exceptional and my guest had a chocolate brownie and believe me this is one of the best meals I think we've ever had it truly was fantastic, we come to you all the time for meals and I don't think we are likely to go anywhere else because the food and service were excellent.
We had a young waitress last night who seemed quite new and she was very attentive very polite and very much allowed us to enjoy our evening experience .

Lovely welcoming pub with great food and friendly staff.
Edit: Have visited many more times now hence the additional photos. Our favourite pub to visit in the area, fantastic food and service.

Popped in on for a family dinner. The wait was not too long at all, we’ve been served straight away. Food was really lovely, perfectly cooked meats and tasty starters. Lovely staff. Nicely decorated for the festive season. Will definitely visit again. Many thanks.

Visited 20/01/2023 for a spot of lunch. After arriving at approximately 3pm we were greeted by a lovely young lady, whose name I believe is Liz. After sitting at the bar and enjoying a pint of Asahi and Neck Oil, both pictured below, we moved onto a table nearby, and ordered some squid, beef dumplings, and a chicken burger. These were enjoyable and the service was excellent. Will come again.

Popped in on the off chance on a Sunday evening, and despite being busy, they had space for four. The wait was not too long at all. Food was really lovely, perfectly cooked meats. A good menu selection for the kids. The bill wasn't as big as expected. 2 rounds of drinks, main with extra sides, and puddings for the four of us came to £86. Lovely staff. Nicely decorated for the festive season and 2 roaring fires within our view. Will visit again. Many thanks.

The food here is always tasty, my son loves the burger with the beef dripping sauce and he says their squid is the best they just get it right. I would recommend booking as they do get busy and their restaurant is not massive and they don't over crowd with extra tables which is great as your not sitting on top of each other. We always have a good meal here. Staff are helpful and friendly too.
