Not a good, not a bad experience.

The place next to the canal was really busy today, as Summer had arrived

They ran out of most of beers on the menu, and by the time I ordered they ran out of more so I was served a cheaper brew and pointed out to them and they refunded promptly.

The food was a bit pricey, typical gastropub, chicken burger was quite thin when biting into it, a thumb full of coleslaw and "skin on" thin fries, for £15 quid

Service was good, with posh sauces and nice views

Food was pretty good and staff friendly, but service was very slow due to understaffing. A little pricey for what it was, but pleasant surroundings and situated along a canal tow path xxx

The best Sunday roast we have had in a long time beef superb and the loin of pork, good servings and lovely fresh huge yorkers, service was good for mains but we had to ask and chase
several times for our ordered desserts, but when they did arrive were excellent, will certainly be going again.

Great food, great staff, great selection of drinks!
Lovely setting right next to the canal path. Great outdoor area to soak up the sun

I think the Dragon, maybe, has designs above its station if its food is anything to go by.
Two of us went for a special dinner, so we could have gone anywhere, but we like the Dragon for its quiz and excellent beer. Its problem is price. Like anyone I don't mind paying for quality but the food was average at best, and worst of all, some dishes were tepid. We had the sharer starters of Katsu wedges, prawn bruschetta and loaded mushrooms. The mushrooms came out after we'd finished the other two and were cold.
The wedges and the prawns were good though. Next we had loaded burger and a tepid mushroom stroganoff and for dessert stem ginger sticky toffee pud with a thin custard and a vegan tiramisu, whuch wad ok but all the taste was in the last mouthful. Overall we paid a lot of money for what was basically Harvester fayre. It was extremely disappointing and they really need to look at whether or not they should reduce food prices or increase the menu or the quality. Staff great though to be fair and we will still quiz and drink there but not eat unless things change

A very nice place to eat and drink something. You can eat inside but also outside where you can admire the river.
The servers are nice, but you need to take the order at the bar

Lovely pub by the canal/river. Visited for breakfast meeting. Food was very tasty and well presented and service was excellent. Trade seemed quite buoyant for a cold January day. Would like to visit again in the summer and watch the boats and world go by.

🤔 what a mixed bag of an experience, this was "D" in our alphadate nights and let's just say that it didn't live up to expectations. We were seated next to a busy path to the kitchen and another dining room, so the human traffic volume was immense and off-putting, leading to no privacy for a chat. The menu was expensive so we were expecting top quality but sadly the food didn't live up to the price, but was made up with quantity, leaving us to full to order desert. The staff were polite and on point, we were never waiting long for anything and nothing was a problem (apart from the chips which were like leather). All in all not a bad experience as the place was lovely and clean with great decor, but we won't be rushing back. Hope you found this helpful and pop me a thumbs up 👍 thank you
