Amazing work by wonderful people.

I wish we didn’t have to visit here at all but as we do we’re immensely grateful to the staff and the work they carry out here. ‘Thank you’ seems inadequate.

The design of the building’s inside makes it feel spacious but not imposing with lots of bright colours and displays. Even the automated cleaning robots are decorated.

There are plenty of people starting to give guidance on how to get where you need to go.

There’s Pret A Manger and W H Smiths downstairs. On the first floor, there’s a more homely café run by volunteers offering bacon butties and a great cup of tea.

Just had the quietest and quickest visit to the JR accident and emergency department. Checked in and seen the triarge team within 30 minutes of arrival. We were then moved to a quiet GP section and waited for 5 people to be seen, then I was called.

We got to the JR at 13:55 and we were back home again at 17:00 - fast!!

Have to say thank you to the staff on today for getting me in and out so quickly and smoothly - thank you !!

Just got discharged from the emergency department. Some slight waiting times, but the experience was overwhelmingly positive from the point the ambulance came to the nurses and x-ray specialists to the receptionists and especially the doctor, who run the tests to ensure that nothing dangerous is there before discharging me. Quite a happy turnover to a bad unhealthy start of the day!

A great hospital with amazing staff members. I have been to this hospital a few times for various different reasons and I can not speak highly enough for this hospital and its customer service. One of the best hospitals in the UK and you are always made to feel welcome and when dealing with the doctors they will always be honest and reassuring.

Hospital looks nice and modern but the care my husband received while in the neuroscience ward was awful. He was left with no food, water, or pain medication for hours, and also no way of communicating as he is deaf, and no-one tried to arrange someone who could do sign language for him. There was no explanation as to why he was nil by mouth and the communication was terrible both between my husband and the nursing staff and the nursing staff and other members of staff at the hospital. There were a few really good staff including the three staff from ENT who attended his MRI scan, a lovely nurse who got him some food from the restaurant when he was finally allowed to eat, and the day time receptionist who tried to find some information for me, but that was overshadowed by the experience as a whole. The atmosphere of the place was uncaring and unprofessional especially at night.

On Friday, I fell off my bike and broke my collarbone. An ambulance took me to this hospital. Half the night I waited for my turn in the corridor. My clothes were cut in the ambulance, I was half naked. I felt cold. Once I even lost consciousness for a while. When it was my turn, they took an x-ray and told me to wait again... When I finally got an appointment, the doctor didn’t show me my x-rays, didn’t explain anything, didn’t offer any options for solving the problem. They just gave me a bandage. When I said that my bone was sticking out of my body, that I needed an operation, that I didn’t want to be with a crooked bone sticking out all my life, some woman said that in England we don’t do collarbone surgery ... What!? Are you seriously!? I was sent home naked and with a bone sticking out of my body... And now I'm wasting time and the situation is getting worse because the bone doesn't heal properly... I have to look for another hospital... I think it's terrible. I never thought I would say this, but medicine in Ukraine is much better than in the UK ...

CMU A My husband was on the ward for several weeks during the hot weather earlier this year.. I was delighted to see how much care was given, to ensure the people cared for, were comfortable and hydrated. The atmosphere on the ward was one of a big family, a calm but keen eye on each one of the patients, with the focus on the care and comfort of each individual. I was extremely impressed., Being kept informed of my husbands progress on his request. He came home on end of life care.. the only downfall was the care put in place..( that was rectified by me later) and lack of information during the transition. I would have marked 5 but for that

This is for Neuroscience Blue ward - the services we had was very unpleasant! Seems like all these “NHS heroes” thing has gone into some of these people’s heads!!!
Staffs have no regard for their patients , noisy mostly at night, even thought the patient has asked if they can turn the noise down but with no regard as the loud talking and laughing continued until past midnight in most nights!! Unfriendly and laziness of some!!! Ignoring patients calls. A few are absolute rude and this male nurse(south Asian male) simply kicked his trolley towards the middle of the corridor where the patient is passing by, the patient has to quickly divert the direction of the wheelchair to avoid colliding with this man’s trolley. I felt absolute disgust seeing he’s done that!!!! YOU ARE A “DISGUST” to be part of an organisation trying to portray themselves as the “best service they offer”. Clearly this is NOT the case! The IGNORANCE and BIGOTED attitude of this man beggars belief. Your job is to serve your patients in a most dignified way not to intimidate them!!!
This patient is well liked by most staff in this hospital however this man’s action is clearly a disappointment!! He needs to understand his ROLE as carer!!!!
