I've always liked this store (their selection of vegan cheese is seriously impressive) but what prompted me to actually write a review about it was the amazing above-and-beyond care we received from the manager who saved our Thanksgiving! I'm an American expat living in London for 12 years, but Thanksgiving is still an important time for me. I have only been vegan for a little over a year, so I'm still navigating these things. I wanted to find a Tofurky holiday roast, but no one carried it! The manager at the Haelan Centre ordered one specially for us and it arrived in good time for our holiday. My carnivorous husband even loved it! I got everything I needed for our feast. Thank you for helping me create a special holiday. :)

I cannot believe some of the low ratings on this establishment as I have been coming and recommending this place for over 10 years now. The only reason I have given it a 4 star ratings is because I had a significant discount as a valuable customer one day and the next time I was ignored by the same person. I think most of the issues happen downstairs anyway as I wouldn't buy my supplements from anywhere else. The staff upstairs are amazing!!!!

Sorry guys but was really disappointed today. I was so excited that you started selling vegan I e cream and I have been coming near enough every day, and I have been telling all my friends about it. Brought my neighbour today, and the portion felt insulting. Been buying three scoops and priced at nearly £5, I felt short changed and embarrassed today. What is going on? Please have some consistency in your portions, otherwise I will not be returning. Shame, as I really love the shop.

The ice cream is vegan and delicious, contrary to a negative review on here about cost, it is actually less expensive than other local ice cream stores and £4.75 for three large scoops is terrific value for the delicious product. The coffee is of very high quality too. Enjoy the flavours. Deffo 5 stars.

Chanced upon the best ice cream ever- fortuitously vegan.
I had salted caramel and hazelnut- delicious.
Very large scoops made it good value too for the quality.

I used to absolutely love this place, family run, organic produce, staff are great and Independent. We have been going here for years. We love supporting businesses that are independent and we make a point of travelling further to do so. However going in today and buying a small bit of produce nothing too much, but the shock for me was £1.68 for 1 pepper. You’re taking us for a ride there! I paid £37.65 for 16 items, 90% of my shopping was veg! When I said £1.68 for a pepper the woman behind the counter said ‘yeah’ as if that was normal! No, not normal and quite frankly won’t be going back to support this business. I know Inflation is on the rise and they have to come up with new ideas to keep the lights on but think of other ways, don’t rob your customers.

Response to The comment made:

In response to your pepper price comparison:

Duchy organic peppers (3 in pack) £2.20
Wholegood organic peppers (3 in pack) £3.50
Wholegood Romano peppers (2 in pack) £3

I bought 3 peppers from you today:
Red x1 £1.68
Green x1 £84p
Yellow x1 £1.60

That’s £4.12 for 3 peppers! The most expensive out of all of the above! So if you’re going to come with price comparisons please list the ones you don’t want to. You can discuss weight all you wish, it’s still robbing people. I understand (running a restaurant) how prices have gone up, I understand inflation but I also understand the profit we make when we buy and sell things. In restaurants they usually use a 3x mark up, I’m not sure what it is in businesses but I can promise you you’re making a pretty penny just from your pepper sales alone! Thanks but no thanks…..

I have been coming here now for a long time as I always find what I want in this shop. One thing I've always liked is the welcoming environment you get when you come to the shop. I have to say one staff member Sarah was particularly helpful and pleasant

She was always professional, friendly and polite and a great asset to the company, but imagine my surprise when I go back in and she's no longer there, along with other staff members that have come and gone fairly rapid. I find staff retention is a real problem in both shops as I use the Park road one too, I never find staff are there longer then a few months which is a shame, I suspect bad management and lack of appreciation for the staff is not a good trait. Value your staff as its an integral part of any business
