I thoroughly enjoyed my visit yesterday to Marchmont House,it was so lovely to be back there again .( I used to work there, as did my husband. we were there for many many years )
I knew there would be a transformation but I was amazed at what I saw.
You deserve to be recognised for this ,it is very classy and no wonder it has taken 5 years .
The paintings and articles you have chosen are just wonderful and in keeping with the period, well done !
I must thank you for the lovely welcome by your staff it made my visit all the more pleasurable .I can see they love Marchmont House as much as I do .
I am looking forward to returning in May.
Thank you so much.

Very well organised tour lasting 2 hours. Cost £17 per person. Not often open for tours and can be booked out quite quickly.
Does have a lift if required.

A wonderful restoration of this historic country house. Great care has been taken to create a sustainable building. The owner has a passion to embrace the arts and craft movement by engaging artists and crafts people to enhance the property.

I visited for the Conversations in Wood event. Both the event and viewing of the house were thoroughly enjoyable. Our group was small which allowed for the peaceful nature of the house to be appreciated. The craftsmen, their skill and lifestyle documented in the film's and the film's quiet appreciation of this made the visit for me.

Wonderful Georgian mansion added to and restored by the great Arts & Crafts architect Sir Robert Lorimer. Stunningly restored by the new owners. Occasionally there are events and tours. A must see!!

Beautiful grounds around well restored and maintained buildings with lots of creative work going on. Artists studios and activities around making and building and crafts. More of this is needed nationally.
