Cheshire Audio

I'd been searching a while for a traditional and local HIFI dealer when a client of mine suggested I check out Cheshire Audio. I'm glad I did and would wholeheartedly recommend anyone else buying HIFI to do the same.
Philip is really nice guy, very knowledgeable and patient, with no hard sell. He had even heard of my 1970's FONS turntable; which he expertly fitted a new cartridge to attached SME 3009 tone arm (plus a necessary 'quick' soldering repair job for free). A couple of equipment upgrades later, including the trial of some speakers at home, and the FONS is singing like never before......Happy Days !!

It looked like the motor of my Rega Planar 3 record player had stopped working. Cheshire Audio offered really helpful advice on the phone as well as by email, identifying the problem as a failed resistor. I also checked out their YouTube videos, which are brilliant and massively helpful too! Highly recommended.

I found a 35 year old turntable in the attic and after a Google search came across Cheshire Audio. I phoned a couple of times and then drove over to have my Rega Planar 2 serviced and and some new bits fitted. I haven't looked back, the service was great, the deck sounds amazing and it has transformed my enjoyment of music.

Nipped in here last year hoping to get an automatic turntable repaired - the owner was honest about the unfeasible time/cost of repairing such a device, and was really knowledgeable about it all. Super helpful and it seems he runs a nice business.

Bought a Rega P1 with my son from Philip. Excellent service offered, with very comfortable - and enjoyable - demonstration. Great to have a bricks and mortar shop of this calibre near to me. Plenty more that interests me from Philip's product portfolio, including Kiseki cartridges and Stax earspeakers! Oh for a lottery win! I took my Rega Planar 3 to Cheshire Audio yesterday after discussing the problem by telephone that after 20 minutes of use the speed started wavering. I was advised that it needed a new capacitor because they wear out eventually. I left it for an hour and when I collected it it had had a service as well as the capacitor fitted. Absolutely superb and friendly service. Definitely recommend 👍

I ordered a new stylus for a friend who doesn't have any of this new - fangled computerized e-mail stuff (and wouldn't know how to use it anyway !) and from ordering to delivery took less than a day ! Great price and truly amazing customer service ! Highly recommended to anyone and everyone interested in audio.
