Fab place! Last minute booking wasn't a problem. Room amazingly clean and comfortable, even had an ensuite which we weren't expecting.

Seems to have been recently renovated, really top notch. Look forward to visiting again in the future!

A good place for an old person that has a problem sleeping because of insomnia.
I got up about 1am and drank free coffee until about 3.30am in the shared kitchen on my own, thinking about my end days, as I believe people of my age often do.
I was pleased with my stay at the hostel.

Lovely and clean hostel with very clear communication, easy check-in and plenty of amenities for a good price. Staff are friendly and the entire building was cosy and spotless throughout our stay.

Really enjoyed my stay at Kendal Hostel. I stayed in a dorm room and had a double bed. I shared the room with 3 other women and there were 7 bed spaces in the room. I didn't feel it was overcrowded, I was comfortable with the number of people I shared the room with. My bed was comfy and clean linen was provided. The bathroom was clean. I visited two other shower rooms and two other toilets within the hostel during my stay and they were all clean. The lounge was nice and there is a free to play pool table. The kitchen was very well equipped and both the kitchen and dining room were clean. We were afforded a warm welcome and a pot of tea which was brought all the way up to our respective bedrooms. The hostel welcomes dogs to stay in individual bedrooms.
I loved breakfast costing £3.00 and included tea, coffee, milk, fruit juices, bread, spreads, jams, chocolate and peanut butter spreads, marmalade, yogurts, fruit and cereals! Fantastic! I highly recommend staying at Kendal Hostel. Oh, and take earplugs, just with the hostel being on a high street it can be noisy outside on the weekend.

A warm welcome on check in, easy process. Stayed in the dorm and was well organised and tidy. Ensuite bathroom was lovely but also the extra toilets throughout the building are useful. Dining area is cosy and cute, kitchen has everything you need. The downstairs lounge is comfortable. People there are super friendly and I am very pleased that George the cat loves a cuddle and attention!

Done the w2w 6 years ago and stayed here, lovely homely shared accommodation, read a review about windows being too thin and when I done the w2w it was typical British weather so a bed, a pillow, a blanket and a roof over my head was a god send so I didn't notice any drafts.. the price for 13 people and safe storage of bikes you couldn't get a tent big enough! Would recommend and hope to do the same again and maybe try and get the 13 original riders, or 12 because I'm 1.
