Rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean. In fact the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. We did upgrade to a deluxe room however as the bathroom in the standard room was a bit tired looking.. I would recommend doing this as rooms are a lot bigger as was the bed.. the style of the rooms is more traditional in keeping with the traditional house Itself. Solid wooden furniture and sympathetic decor.
Staff were exceptional. Couldn’t be more helpful. Grounds are really beautiful and we enjoyed walking around them. Right next to the town centre which was really handy.
Food wise we went half board and this is a buffet an and you help yourself to everything. Food was very nice and changed daily. I would have preferred table service but that’s just my preference..
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We had a lovely stay 😊

We were very excited to have booked months prior a suite in a big country house close to family. We arrived to a grand looking house. I stood at reception waiting for the two ladies to look up an finally acknowledge that I was standing waiting to check in. I was told check in was 4pm. I then ask if there’s a place to sit and wait to have a drink. I was told where to go to get a drink. Enjoyable drink from the bar and quick service also. We checked in at 4pm, and given a room key. We then proceeded to the room to find that firstly it hadn’t been cleaned from the previous guests and it was one of the smallest rooms I’ve seen. This definitely was not a suite with a four poster bed I’d booked. So we went back to reception with pictures to show them, no apology was given as to why the room was dirty and to why it wasn’t a suite. I asked why I hadn’t got the room I booked. I was told a bride that day had got it and I would have to sleep with her if I wanted it. I told them I had booked that room and the receptionist told me it’s a bridal suite. This is not my problem if I had booked it… the booking system should not of allowed a booking to go through if it had a bride booked in it… We then was given a key to the Stanley suite.. we went to that room that had a nice view out but that was about it.. the bathroom had mould, the chair was not usable do to the legs wobbling around. The room was very very hot with only a fan to blow air around the room. This also had to be fixed as it was broken when we switched it on. The room is not serviced so I had to buy my own toilet paper etc. when leaving for the day we asked about the room not being a suite to which they replied “it is” let me tell you it’s not.. There was no hot water one morning so we reported it, a reply of “we know, your not the only guest”. We knew that but we are also a paying guest. Next day no power to give any water at all!! Thankfully we were leaving that day as another day there would of been painful.. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever been to, the staff are all so very rude.. the women on reception are horrible and very unhelpful at all. Highly recommend people do not waste their money.

Yes the food is basic but tasty . The rooms had everything you need and are clean. I was very impressed at the price for the time of year July -August weekend. We had a family gathering there. The pool was clean and a decent size . I was a little apprehensive after reading some reviews but couldn't fault it myself.

Stayed here in September when attending a sports event nearby. Excellent value for money. Got a 3 night deal for £156 which included breakfast and dinner. Room was comfortable with bath and shower. Food was great too. Buffet style for breakfast and dinner with plenty of choice. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Me and my husband spent our 10th wedding anniversary here. We had a fantastic time. The staff was friendly and very helpful to all our needs. We upgraded to a suite. It was gorgeous, comfortable and very spacious. There was a coffee machine and a fridge. His and her sinks in bathroom and a large bathtub which could fit us both in. The food is buffet style for breakfast and dinner. You can pay extra for the restaurant. We did both. Buffet was nice and tasty. With a good choice too. The restaurant was exquisite. There was no fault anywhere and the service was perfect too. We are definitely coming back here again.

A great place to stay. We arrived on Friday and we were given a warm welcome by the front staff. Heads up, it is a rabbit warren if you don't know where to go, but the staff and maps were very helpful! The food was included and it's a type of carvery where you go up and help yourself (had pork gammon with the trimmings, it was amazing!). Our room was small but very cozy with your standard utilities. Lovely location, a beautiful place to stay!

Beautiful property in amazing surroundings. This hotels standard on cleanliness is on the forefront it was spotless. Great atmosphere when walking around the building to access the hotel areas. The spa facility was great too. Every member of staff I came into contact with, was friendly and informative and always had a smile. I would definitely recommended this hotel, I know if I’m in the area again I wouldn’t think twice about staying here.

Visited with my family last weekend. Location great. Hall, grounds and local area really nice. Rooms were clean and everything we needed. The service upon entering was great. The reception staff immediately put me at ease and they did everything they could to accommodate me and my family. They had great empathy for my mum who has dementia. Also the restraunt staff. Thank you for making our family weekend away a lovely memorable experience.
