The Golden Fleece Hotel

Decided to try this local Pub on a week night and was very impressed with the service. The food was proper home cooked meals and tasted delicious. Nothing was too much to ask. We would highly recommend!

From the onset was very disappointed.
Wasn't as described, room hadn't been cleaned properly cleaned, crumbs on floor, had to wedge window open with a loo roll fitments hanging off, not enough hot water to fill bath properly. Asked to book breakfast as so busy but no one was at breakfast hardly, booked 2 single beds but had to share double with friend, just generally grubby all round considering price.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in was large and cosy with everything you could wish including the duck for the bath. The whole place was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was great with a lot of choices. If you ever wish to visit Thirsk this is the place to stay. I would love to come back one day

Had a wonderful stay. Lovely food, nice room with great bed and facilities. Staff were some of the friendliest I've ever come across. Well worth the price and would highly recommend.

Lady on reception was lovely and the hotel looked great. After checking in we had an evening meal which was nice. We stayed in room 24 which was one of the mews rooms. We had an awful nights sleep due to the noise from above which wasn’t anything to do with the guests it was a lack of soundproofing between the ground floor and 1st floor. We wouldn’t normally write a review but for the price I think things like this should be mentioned. The door latch also rattles loudly when the main door is opened which wakes you up. Bathroom wasn’t clean which we would also expect for the money we paid. Disappointing stay. I hope they make changes and it would be a great place to stay.

Fabulous hotel. Excellent location right in the middle of town. Checkin was quick and easy, reception area is beautiful. Room was amazing. Huge bed, lots of space, great bathroom with shower and gorgeous toiletries. Lots of tea and coffee with biscuits and bars of chocolate. Free bottles of water waiting in the room. Room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the market square. The bar is beautiful and well stocked. The restaurant is gorgeous. Lovely decor, fantastic service and the food was exceptional. Breakfast was included and was equally as good as dinner. Looking forward to returning.

The impressive upgrade, carried out by the Coaching Inn Group has created an excellent hotel, topped off with pleasant and attentive staff!
As well as a very pleasant environment the restaurant served a good Sunday lunch.

Having visited a number of Coaching Inn establishments I would highly recommend them.

Excellent menu and food at a very reasonable price.
Lovely and quiet in the restaurant (due to great design and table set up) and a super menu all at sensible prices. Top class chef and service from a lovely team.
