The staff were very friendly and helpful, the prices were reasonable, the room was well designed and clean. The breakfast was tasty. The swimming pool is a nice bonus as well. The hotel was very quiet, even though we were by the leisure centre. If you are booking multiple rooms double check the prices, as some are randomly at higher prices for the same room type, this was sorted out easily and without fuss so they still get 5 stars

Large hotel, with good sized rooms and plenty of facilities. Popular for functions. Good level of cleanliness but rooms are a bit tired in places. Receptionists were very good and efficient. Breakfast choices were excellent, with hot and cold buffet available. Didn't get a chance to use the pool.

The staff were all very kind and helpful. Customer service was excellent from all staff, from front of house to cleaning staff. The room was comfortable and had a mini fridge with complimentary Cadburys chocolate bar and water in it. The shower was powerful and hot. The gym and pool are excellent facilities with modern changing rooms. The food was good. We had dinner on the first night, despite arriving at 9.55pm, staff were great accommodating us, despite them supposedly stopping service at 10pm. There was everything you needed at breakfast. The hotel is in a nice location with pleasant grounds and good parking.

I had a nice stay mostly due to the clean & very comfortable bed. It was refreshing as I was really needed the rest away from home. The staff were very welcoming and had excellent manners. Only thing missing from my point of view for a 4 star hotel was a fridge/Mini bar in the rooms.

Was here for a friend's wedding reception.
Front bar leaves alot to improve after staff looked at me and proceeded to serve others instead. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. Toilet were spotless and spacious. Venue rooms were immaculate. Highly recommended for wedding and other events.

I was travelling on my own with a baby and used this hotel overnight to break up my journey. The restaurant staff were so kind and went above and beyond which was so appreciated and made life a lot easier! Fed my baby tea, had an early dinner and went to breakfast the next day and all the staff were so helpful. The room was huge (family room) - it was fine and had what we needed. We used the swimming pool which is a great addition, though you have to get changed after using the pool in the changing rooms or walk to your room in your towel, I just wrapped the baby in a towel and took him back to the room for a bath and change. The room generally looked clean but having a baby rolling around on the floor at floor level it could have been cleaner

It's located in a very calm area sundered with a green area. It is easy to park. The staff is friendly. The premises are clean and well organised. The breakfast is great (especially if you go early). Walking distance we can find some good pub/restaurants.

We have been using Holiday Inn since 2019 for our monthly conference and sales meeting. We even continued to use them during the pandemic when the law would allow. Since using this venue post lockdown the service has slipped. Every month that goes by it was becoming worse and worse to the point that we have decided to seek alternative arrangements.

Knowledge of staff is awful. We ordered food at our last meeting and gave clear instructions via email on the timings for lunch. This was ignored and we were told as soon as we got there that the chef had already made our food and it needed to be eaten now or would be ruined. This of course disturbed our whole schedule and caused a great deal of inconvenience. When the food arrived it was clear it was already left out for too long as it was. The quality was awful. We then asked three different members or staff to order drinks, after being passed around again and again they came and told us they could not bring us drinks to go with our lunch and we would have to order these directly from the bar ourselves, leaving our meeting which was already disturbed by the poor, incorrect timing of the food. When we went to the bar to order drinks, at first there was no one to be seen for some time, then the only person that was around was clearly not trained on the bar, did not understand the till or where all the drinks were or indeed how to make them. Not her fault at all, she was only trying to help. However, whilst she was struggling through several colleagues walked past her and ignored her need for help. This experience just topped of a service that has deteriorated since lock down. We were then emailed a few days after our visit by somebody called Beverley stating that we have been accidentally under charged by £30 and could we pay it. This day itself, let alone other days across the years had cost us over £600. Yet they were chasing £30 that they undercharged us by their mistake. This was then questioned given the fact that that it was their error, our continued custom and the awful service we had been receiving. However, Beverly insisted it must be paid, whilst admitting it was their human error. So we will pay this £30 and decide to end our relationship which is worth thousands of pounds to them each year. Awful service, professionalism and curtesy.
