This is a lovely place to stay. All staff were very friendly. I recommend the loft, great room with balcony. Great complimentary breakfast with a few different options. Ideal location and close to everything. No complaints at all.

Stayed here the 26th May. The hotel looks nice, but that’s where it ends.

Our room was extremely small with a large air conditioning unit mounted on the wall. We had no need to use the air con as it wasn’t particularly warm, but the air con unit runs its own cycles that come on automatically and continue even if you switch the unit off. At 3:00am, after getting no sleep because of how loud the unit was we decided to go to reception to complain. Turns out there are no night staff, just a security guard. We explained our issue, a scenario he seemed very familiar with it and showed us to another (equally small) room. Within a couple of hours exactly the same thing happened again. I recorded both events and will be putting them on YouTube.

On checkout, we politely explained our issues to front desk who said the best they could do was offer a very small (practically insulting) discount. They said this would be applied via booking.com where we made the booking.

Weeks later, we raised the issue with booking.com as no refund had been received. They contacted the hotel and came back with the following response…..

“The property has politely declined to provide any sort of compensation regarding the air conditioning noise”

In essence, there are many hotels in the area. I would strongly recommend staying anywhere else but here if you value a good nights sleep and prefer a room with a bit more space.

If you experience similar issues, don’t let them fob you off with an offer of compensation, it’s unlikely to ever materialise.

To add insult to injury, after getting less than 2 hours sleep the coffee machine in the breakfast area was out off service.

There’s a lot to be said for Premier Inns ‘Good night sleep guarantee’

Stayed for one night. Thank goodness it wasn’t longer. The air con made a loud noise all night, despite being switched off. (See uploaded video) Eventually we couldn’t stand it any more and moved rooms in the early hours. Guess what…the air con unit in that room did the same thing, and made the same noise, despite also being switched off! The night staff admitted it was a problem and that other guests had complained previously. We were offered a very small discount by the front desk the following day. However, we never received it, and after contacting Booking.com who contacted The Regent on our behalf, we received an email stating “the property has politely declined to provide any sort of compensation regarding the air conditioning noise issue”… So, £140 for a night of zero sleep, an insultingly low offer of compensation, which they then decided not to pay us in the end anyway. Great customer service guys!

They say they offer "flexible easy" living, but only offer non-refundable, non-amendable rates on their website. Not very flexible or easy.

Excellent rooms in a great central location. Good value for money.
Only suggestion... They need more hanging space for clothes in the rooms.

We were greeted by Sina when we arrived and really showed us what good hospitality looks like.
