Castle Hotel

A beautiful terrace garden welcomes you for a meal and a drink (and if you're lucky) in the sunshine with splendid vistas over the Shropshire countryside.
Inside, the decor is a little jaded yet no matter as the service is fantastic.
Be prepared to hear West Midlanders' enchantment enjoying a day out and plenty of friendly chat before they head home. Those who live nearby can pinch themselves for having this happy hotel on their doorstep.
Castle Hotel is worth the petrol and although that is pricey right now, the value for money lunch will make you feel much better about travelling in your guzzling tank. So too, will be the opportunity to browse around the little shops and local places of interest to make a day of it.

We had an amazing meal at the Castle Hotel. The staff were super-friendly and the chef catered for my partner who needed to order gluten-free. The food was outstanding (well done chef-team), and the whole evening was a pleasure. We will definitely be back soon. Big high fives...

The Castle Hotel has had its ups and downs over the years, but currently it's on a major up. Have eaten here twice in the last month and both times have been excellent. The menu offers a good range of options for both traditionalists and more adventurous. Eating is either relaxed in the three different bars or more formal if you are a large party. looking forward to returning very soon.

Staff were extremely welcoming, warm and friendly and helpful with questions about the local area. We stopped off with two dogs who were also welcomed, so very dog friendly. We only stopped for a very well needed scone and cup of tea but it was lovely.

Amazing food, service and standards. So accommodating and super friendly. Our springers loved the garden area and we would thoroughly recommend the burgers ! Will be visiting again

The hotel itself was a quirky delight, our room was spacious, and thoughtfully prepared. The staff were all friendly, professional and efficient. It certainly earned its dog-friendly status, from the well thought out “ doggy box” in our room, to the freshly cooked breakfast sausage for your canine companion.
The food, whether breakfast, or a 3 course evening meal, was varied, delicious, well prepared and a credit to the chef. We will certainly be returning.

Really lovely hotel, warm, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. We had a lovely night and a good meal in the restaurant. The breakfast too was really good with lots of choice and really good quality local produce. We can't recommend this place enough.

So busy having a good time, I didn’t take any snaps of the hotel itself! Lovely selection of beers, the marmalade bread and butter pudding was super duper and a sound night’s sleep. I come here every year before Christmas and the Castle always gives a really warm welcome. The lake is at Carding Mill Valley - just near church Stretton.
