Star & Eagle Hotel

Very friendly and nice place.
Friendly restaurant staff with delicious home made meals. My lasagna was on a small side for the amount that I paid, but good for my waist 😁 Steak was perfectly cooked and sauce that came with it was delicious.
Rooms are simple, but you get everything that you need. The gap between the door and the floor let the light from the corridor in at night, but i covered with some pillows and problem solved 😊
Breakfast that was included was fine. Fried eggs were perfect, but my scrambled eggs need some improvement. Breakfast left us full all day. Delicious local apple juice and nice so needed coffee.

I attended a party booked at their private venue and had a wonderful night. Staff were friendly and professional and made the place look superb. Vegan food was great.

Was in range of multiple Pokemon GO Stops and two Gyms.

Had an absolutely dreamy stay, we felt completely welcome and attended to, Scott the chef was a wonderful host, but everyone was lovely. Absolutely charming place, super comfortable beds and wonderful breakfast. We had dinner both nights and Ioved both dishes.

Very friendly, accommodating staff. Great selection of beers,wine, soft drinks. Excellent menu to choose from with options for all dietary requirements. Would visit again.

Very poor value for money. A very dated old fashioned and dusty old hotel. Reception was a shambles and the room with a 4 poster bed which was very small and uncomfortable and it was an upgrade. Very disappointing stay for quite a lot of money.

The staff were excellent, so very friendly, welcoming and extremely efficient.
The bedroom was superb, bed was so lovely and comfy. Did not want to get up!
The food was excellent well cooked and tasty.
I remarkd at check in that in the battery in my key fob had "died" Lizzie's husband Scott kindly pit a new battery into it. I cannot thank them enough.

Will definitely stay again.

After our recent stay and meal here we are very happy to recommend the Star & Eagle on all fronts! We were well looked after by accommodating and very friendly staff where nothing was too much trouble but without taking away our privacy. The accommodation is well presented, clean and comfortable and the food does not disappoint. We will be back - thank you!

The wonderful owners and staff at this great pub turned what could have been a nightmare of an evening and night into a brilliant evening. We were driving back from lunch on Sunday in thick snow, got to Goudhurst and the road conditions were so bad that we decided to stop at the Star & Eagle. All their rooms had been booked by other stranded guests but they made us understand that they wouldn't leave us stranded. Two rooms became available for us booked by guests who couldn't get to the pub because the roads were lethal late that night. We heard of others who were given staff rooms for the night. The following morning we set off after a delicious full English breakfast, smiles on our faces and full of gratitude. Nothing was too much bother, we couldn't have been in better hands, we can't thank the owners and staff enough, we wish you all a truly wonderful Christmas and we have baptised your pub the 5 stars and Eagle. Thank you thank you thank you we will be back.
