I'm used to decent hotels, this wasn't one of them. With the lads it didn't matter. Convenient location. Clean room. What I expected for £60. Old hotel but if it was nicer it would be double the money.

I did previously leave a good review for this quaint old hotel, how quickly things change. The management, staff and cleaners appear to have been dismissed. Kitchen is closed, bar is closed, no towels, coffee or toilet roll in rooms. Temporary staff told us at check in that the bar would be open until 9pm but when we got back from town at 7pm it was all locked up. Why are they still taking bookings?

Stayed here for a night. I slept but was worried if I would wake up with bed bug bites. It was cheap and did what I wanted it to but I would not stay here again. The hotel needs new windows (double glazed), new beds etc. The hotel just needs to be refurnished in general, it is dated and dirty. You can't touch anywhere without thinking that you are touching someone else's bodily fluids!

Stayed here as part of a brass band of 40 + instrumentalists . Chris is absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. We left today feeling that we had left a friend behind!!

Our entire brass band stayed here for the weekend and what an amazing experience. Chris was an absolute legend and really look care of us and all our needs. He even walked us round the their sister hotel in the morning to get breakfast as the kitchen is closed at the moment. Hotel is a bit dated but so what! The negative comments are really unjustified. Great time by all!

What can I really say about this hotel. (1) it's in a great spot (2) the rooms are clean (3) very little to no staff. Now here's the issue with this hotel the manager is lovely, he did all he could with what little he has, staff made sure the rooms where clean every day and fresh sheets. Now here's the problems no breakfast, rooms are very old, windows are wooden and rotten,dampness and leak in the pub area, smell was bad in there, shower head fell off, toilet wouldn't flush, electricity in one room was flickering like mad this is just a small list. It is in the process of been sold on and waiting for the new owner to do it up. I hope when it's done up I get an invite to see what's been done to renovating the place

Did not stay after seeing the terrible state of the room and the building. The whole place smells damp. There was a hole in the ceiling in the room we were given which looked like a water leak which tracked to the electrics! Mould in the bathroom, stained and dirty carpet and blinds. For some unknown reason coat hangers above the kettle so nowhere to hang dresses- this was a fire hazard as was obvious water leak in the ceiling to the electrics! I spoke with the manager who was very nice and apologised for the state of not just the room but the whole building and said no money had been spent on maintenance for some time- clearly! I have never ever been to such a disgusting hotel and the whole building is in need of complete renovation. The bar ceiling looks like it is falling down with dust and damp everywhere, the chairs in the bar have ripped upholstery. Just do not stay at this place! Oh and they have taken my money even though I did not stay! I've requested a refund as the place is not as advertised. I will be taking legal action if they continue to refuse to refund me. I had to pay for alternative accommodation minus the mould, damp, hole in the ceiling and fire hazards! Shocking! I have given 1 star rating but only as this website will not let me post without it! Really it is lower than a zero and should not be marketed as a hotel- unfit fir purpose!

Not clean at all I am not going to go on and on about how old is the hotel that is not the problem here. Problem that I have is that we stayed for two nights on 2nd and the 3rd of Dec 2022 and I ended up with Scabies my god I never had this in my live nor I new about this vicious bags . I am trying to get rid of them but it looks like it's going to take a while and we the cost of living to wash anything I literally touch its not pleasant for the pocket not to mention the burning feeling and itching. I will never stay again and I will never use cheap hotel ever again . First and last time for me for sure
