Very average accommodation albeit comfortable and easy access to the town centre. Others commented on breakfast taking a long time to be served although mine was quite swift. Breakfast staff seemed uninterested in their role and working very robotically. Will probably try some other options before returning.

Our room (222) was a little quirky but fab (unless you were tall) beautiful bathroom with bath and shower, skylight in bedroom with a veiw, separate dressing table/desk. Unfortunately the service let it down. No reception staff when we arrived, we had to wait for someone from the kitchen to finish what they were doing to be able to book us in and the staff at breakfast were very sparse. The location is great if you want to be in town or near the dockyard.

Thank you for an amazing stay....a really top working team! You all go above and beyond....the menu is by all accounts already infamous and i can honestly say I havent had duck like that in years 5☆ ....the artwork the decor the architecture and history combined with dear Di and her ladies keeping the room absolutely spotless i can say Duke of Edinburgh Hotel is quality 5 ☆ enjoyment and a total luxury break... A big Thank you and see all you next time.

Very convenient for the railway station.
Lovely building with decent rooms (if rather too hot!).
Restaurant ok, but service slow and inattentive.

Had a recent one night stay. Clean, comfortable room, great shower, huge bed. Staff helpful and friendly. Restaurant good value, generous portions. Iron and ironing boards in room. Good choice at breakfast, no fresh fruit salad but otherwise great.

Always great service and friendly/ efficient staff.
Perfect for a few drinks and a bite to eat.

However being here today the manageress, a blonde woman with glasses was very rude to her own staff stomping around and barking orders.
Drawing attention from most of the bar /restaurant customers.
The staff always do a great job, give them some credit. It's the busiest time of the year.

It was my dad's 80th birthday and the four of us including our dog decided to book a table on New Year's Eve in the restaurant. We had a fantastic time all made better by the brilliant staff and great food and drink. On arrival we were shown to the table and they brought over a dog bowl of water which was a great touch. Our server was super friendly and had a sound knowledge of the menu including all the Lancaster Ales on offer. Thank you all for a super afternoon and I would highly recommend the bar and restaurant.

Relaxing afternoon lunch with a couple of drinks, great staff, even better service totally ruined by upstart management type (dyed blonde in glasses stomping around in cheap heels) embarrassing staff by shouting each member down within earshot of paying customers. Disgusting behaviour!
