Civic Hotel

Booked this hotel due to its location near Twickenham Stadium for a match in June.
Made the original booking back in December knowing that it would be a popular area.
The hotel cancelled our room due to "overbooking" 48 hours before our stay!!
It wasn't overbooked 6 months ago when I requested to stay there!!
Also had several messages telling me they were "looking forward to you staying with us"
Rang them and they weren't bothered. Clearly managed to get someone to pay more for the room and didn't care about service.
Asked for the manager to call me to explain and never heard anything.
Shocking service.

Location is nice. Very quiet area, decent place to take a walk at night. Room leaves plenty to be desired, and I certainly did not appreciate someone opening our door while we were asleep saying “time to check out”. Rather invasive if you ask me.

Hotel is situated in a nice location away from from the busy streets. Was great for the kids as they could see planes taking off from Heathrow Airport.

The beds were OK , however the walls are thin and you can clearly here noises from the neighbours in the room next door

I arrived to check in and I was told that I have already checked in by the staff. So the staff checked the system and then finally after making me wait with my pregnant wife told me that my room would be ready in 10 mixtures despite me checking in at 11pm. Once the room was ready, when we arrived to the room we only find out that there is 2 single beds in there and I was charged for a triple room. They were quick to take my money but didn't inform me that they will be checking me in to a different room to what I booked . I asked the staff to provide me with a triple toom as I booked and I was told that it wasn't available but yet again they accepted my booking. They blamed the system they are unsig for this fault. I was then told I would be given a refund which then would have put me and my pregnant wife without a place to stay for the night as all other hotels were fully booked. Reluctantly I agreed to stay with a £10 discount , however the cleniness of the place is poor . It smelt of mould , the beds were broken and old , the corridor to my room smelt of dead mice and there was no air-conditioning in my room . After a very uncomfortable night of sleep I would definitely not recommend this place even as a last resort. Stay away from this place, the pictures are deceiving, one member of staff is absolutely rude who is not helpful at all . I wouldn't even give it a 1 star , these people need to be closed and never open again .

Clean simple rooms. Reception allowed early check-in after a tiring 17 hour sequence of flights to get here, which was much appreciated.

Brand new room, helpful and friendly staff. Booked very last minute so the price was a little higher than expected but they really helped us when our other hotel booking fell through.

If you are looking for a decent night's rest then don't bother. No noise reduction between corridors or rooms so any slight conversation or arguments will keep you awake. Staff are nice but u helpful. Much rather pay same price for Holiday Inn or Premier! Don't do what we did. STAY AWAY

You may see reviews that are not exactly flattering about this hotel, but they are clearly all out of date. There has obviously been a refit and redecorating programme recently, I could clearly smell the recently cut wood of the new wardrobes. We booked a twin room with a shower /toilet, we actually got a triple room and the shower looked pretty new too and was certainly clean. It wasn't perfect, it looked as if a previous resident had spilled something indelible on the carpet, which left a stain of around 4", but generally everything was clean and perfectly acceptable. We were greeted ar reception by two members of staff, both of whom were both pleasant and polite. Parking on site was easy and free (larger chains should take note). As we were checking out, the same staff were friendly, helpful and enquired if we had been satisfied with our stay, I assured them that everything had been just fine.
In summary, it was well priced, comfortable and convenient for Heathrow Airport.
