It was... Okay?

I think the Google reviews for Ockenden are quite misleading, as whilst the spa is worth 5 stars, the hotel and restaurant are nowhere near the same quality.

The atmosphere was tired and awkward in the hotel and restaurant, I would really recommend some sort of background music so you're not sat in silence listening to the table next to you chewing. The breakfast was really lackluster, cold toast and a very sad fry up, and the petit fours at lunch were unusual to put it politely. We made the decision to eat elsewhere for all other meals.

All-in-all, for a spa day, it's a lovely experience, but I can't recommend the hotel or the food.

Great little Hotel/Spa retreat in a gorgeous little part of Cuckfield. Children welcome- kids swimming is 10am 1hr and afternoon 3.30 -5 which worked for us. We stayed within the spa side of the Manor which was lovely. Nice views, clean rooms, nice size and lovely decor. The restaurant has a gorgeous views. Menu serves delicious local produce. Restaurant staff are incredibly polite and professional. Overall it was a great stay.

We really loved this place and will definitely come back someday. The location and facilities (we stayed in the Spa residence) are great. Also a great opportunity to relax and to visit the great Spa. You might want to skip dinner as we thought it was too expensive and the food not great.

Such a gorgeous restaurant and lovely gardens! The food was very good and so were the drinks. The waiters and waitresses were so friendly and polite, it was a very pleasant experience. My online downside was that the food took quite long to arrive.

We stayed for a night with our newborn and couldn't be happier. The rooms were spacious, very clean and well equipped. We paid for a kingsize bedroom and there wasn't a shower but a very large bath which worked for us but might not suit everyone. The staff were helpful and friendly making our stay very easy. The spa was very relaxing and had all of the facilities we wanted with no need to book as a hotel guest which we've found in other spa hotels.

Stayed here with my daughter to catch up and spend quality time. The hotel is wonderful. The food was great. The spa relaxing. Staff excellent. I will be back. Thank you.

A wonderful tranquil spa set in glorious countryside. The treatment was wonderful paying attention to all of my needs. Followed by a delicious afternoon tea. We rolled out of there very full and relaxed! I highly recommend!

nice rooms, nice staff, great spa. The package deals are good value but the reason why this is 4 stars and not 5 is because things are astronomically expensive outside of the package deal: £6 for a small bottle of beer, £9.50 for a shot of Bailey's, £32 for a screw top bottle of wine. Spa treatments were around £80 for a half hour. Definitely worth a visit though
