Excellent customer service (especially Charlotte who gave us some good local knowledge of the area and walks to go on). Really good breakfast options. We booked for dinner as well and the food was delicious! Highly recommend going for lunch or dinner. Room was large and clean but walls are very thin and it was clear the head of the bed in the room next to us was on the other side of the wall where the head of our bed was! We stayed midweek so noises from the pub below weren't an issue.

Overall we had a lovely time. It was a great location and we felt very safe there. The rooms were fabulous and very clean and the whole place was a little gem of character. The staff were very pleasant and the food very, very good. The only downside was that we had booked a three-day stay but the first night was cancelled on the day of planned arrival. We were travelling from overseas and had to try to get another place sorted on the day of travel which was extremely stressful. We were surprised that there was no mention of this when we arrived or no apology or explanation. That was a bit disappointing in terms of customer care.

Pros - lovely building, ambience and food. Staff helpful and loved the decor
Cons - Soundproofing in the rooms not great and floorboards/joists need sorting.
Breakfast - for such a nice place, I couldn’t believe that the orange juice was concentrated and from a packet. Also, my bacon toastie was dry toast with bacon between, no butter. A minor thing but difficult to eat as so dry.

Location was perfect , accommodation was a great size room, very clean and very comfortable bed , decor in the bar and restaurant was beautiful, the grounds were lovely to relax in, parking free over the road , with cameras , staff all fabulous, and cleaners where lovely and so friendly and went the extra mile asking did we want anything else in our room , would definitely recommend . 10 min drive to Tring station , commute to London 30 mins , and a safe car park £6 for the day with cameras again

Bathroom and shower were lovely. Bedroom was good too but we have stayed previously in larger rooms in the same Inn. New decor in public areas has been done well and in keeping with the building. Food was excellent but no bin obviously available to deposit used tea bags at breakfast. Early morning road noise in our room but understand it is difficult to control on such an old building with old windows. Friendly staff. Having stayed a few years ago we thought check in was still at the bar. It is not obvious there is a dedicated desk near the restraunt area.

The Bar staff on our first night were friendly and made us feel welcome, Tracey who worked both mornings and served breakfast was second to none.
