Shocking....avoid at all costs. The owners/company managers refuse to engage with customer complaints.
The room was dirty, the curtains were hanging off the rails, mattress heavily stained, there was a leak in the sink causing a damp patch on the bathroom floor that was starting to smell and the internet was not working. I just did not want to spend another night there. I would have not stayed the first night but I had driven a long way, it was late and I needed to sleep. I was physically scratching for days after; my skin was crawling

They have charged me for the 3 nights and refuse to engage with me, their management are unapproachable. I have given them chance after chance to deal with this I am prepared to pay for what I used; one night and the dinner/room service....another issue was the room service tray was dirty and greasy. I have no issue talking to your head office as this is really about standards; the state of the rooms, hotel maintenance, cleaning etc. but they are not interested. Shocking customer experience

I booked into the Dun Cow for the same price £55/night for the remainder of my stay; clean and well maintained. The management of that establishment know how to run and inn.

Friendly staff, and the rooms are okay for a no frills one night stopover. Power plug the other side of the room, none by the bed. Bath underneath the shower, but shower mechanism separate and easy to set temperature. Nice big metal shower head. Double bed was comfy. Wooden floors throughout, very slippy if you get them a little wet, or have wet feet... almost unavoidable having a shower or bath. Room could do with a little repair work, a chunk of plaster missing from the wall. There was a TV, but I didn't use it. WiFi code in the reception, and signal was a bit patchy. No Kettle in the room, you have to walk down stairs to the reception to make yourself a cuppa.

Good for last-minute stop when on the road. Has 24 hour reception, and late night checkout was good. Friendly staff that helped us and a bar to grab a drink after arrival.

The establishment itself is run down and in need of renovation. Facilities in the room are somewhat short of basic needs: poor water pressure, only the bathroom light was working, there is a funky smell and the place was not as clean as one wishes.

Had a great stay here. Room was very spacious indeed. Great value for money. No tea or coffee in room, not an issue as they had it availible free downstairs. Also no food served here but lots of places near by that do. My shower did not work but the friendly guy at reception fixed this within 10 minutes by changing the shower head.

This hotel is far from 3 star. Stayed one night at the cost of £55 pounds! Absolutely rip off, the bed was ridiculously small for two grown adults, barely slept due to be so uncomfortable. It's very dated, dark and dingy. There were spatter marks up the walls in places, the window handle was broken, ripped wallpaper and a huge stain in front of the toilet and no paper in the holder. The staff clearly didn't want to be there. Arrived late in the evening from a night out to be greeted by staff smoking outside and glaring at us, no hello or welcome of any sort. Rubbish was scattered on the grounds outside and the bricks had fallen off the wall surrounding the tree outside. Just not a nice place at all. Upon leaving the staff took the key and said thanks, no questions about how our stay was. Had to go across the road to a garage and buy something to drink because the tea and coffee was disgusting too. I would not recommend this place at all. Over priced and we'd have had a better sleep in the car!!

Staff are very friendly, obliging of our 20 person group. £25 a night was a solid shout.
Facilities are basic but tidy.
Rooms leave a lot to be desired. We can hear the conversation being had in the room above us and the beds aren't very comfortable. I woke up with a sore shoulder from where a spring had been digging into me all night. Two of my teammates had to come borrow my shower because the showers in their rooms had no hot water, even after bringing it up the day before and being told this morning it was fixed.

We were given rooms 30 and 31. On opening the door to the triple room a dreadful smell came out. once in the room is was very clear that the carpets had not been hoovered nor had the bathroom been looked at or cleaned, there was pools of water on the floor ( not sure if water or urine hence the dreadful smell?)

Myself and my partner then went into the double room, again the carpet looked it had not been hoovered. Before placing the towels on the radiator in the bathroom, we ran our hand over it and it was filthy no way was it possible to hang the towels on it. The wallpaper in the bedroom is peeling off and a draw missing from a bedside table.

After a very quick discussion, we decided that there was no way we could spend the night at this establishment. When I went back to reception to explain the problems we had and asking for a refund, the gentleman on reception was very flippant and stated there was no one with authority at the hotel. I can not believe the attitude he had, he was not apologetic. Not even offering to come and see the issues we had. I even took a couple of photos (please find attached) to show him again no interest, only stating that I should email the hotel.yes a cheap hotel but don't expect a bathroom that looks like it had never been clean for weeks

Booked this hotel without reading the reviews and really wish I had, there was a old musty smell on entry to the reception, received the key to our room and was told it was in the other block across the path.
Anyway our room was on the second floor and the musty smoky smell persisted walking up the two flights of stairs the place looked old, and all fixings looked old, once we got the door to our room open it didn't get much better, the bedroom looked in need of a refurb, the paint work was old, the wallpaper looked stained and was peeling, no tea making facilities at all, the bed mattress was awful and was bottoming out just sitting on it, one of the bedside cabinets had some sort of radio in it which looked like it came out of the ark!, I didn't look any further as I didn't want to stay there one minute longer
We left went to reception and asked for our money back which we got and left. This place needs a major clean up and refurb badly
