Very outdated which is fine but not for what the price you pay. The staff were lovely and the pub next door is great but can’t say we will be back unfortunately. First room we when into smelt terribly like stale cigarette smoke so informed staff and got moved into another room. The room was clean but had old stains on the floor and shower curtains. And as we were walking back from the pub we saw 2 young lads very clearly having a cheeky smoke from one of the rooms. It’s very clear that is a £150 fine and multiple warnings asking people not to do this but can’t say it wasn’t very well set in place!

curtains only go half way down the windows
above a pub where they are using microphones - very noisy
floodlights outside the room to light the pub up - but as curtains only cover top half of the window it lights up the room until midnight
vending machine doesnt work after you have paid - their solution to bang the side and see if it falls, when it doesnt there is nothing more they can do
paid for breakfast but wouldnt give me one on the last day unless I paid again
rude and unhelpful staff.
mouldy shower with curtain rather than glass that sticks to you
no air con - and smoking area is directly below the window so cant leave window open.

The bedding was extremely clean and bed comfy but room was tired , grubby looking and in desperate need of updating . We had an accessible room , and the seat in the shower was brown and uninviting to say the least . However , great location and friendly staff

Location was good, close to railway station. We had a twin room which was basic but clean. Slight mould issue on shower curtain but usable, tiling looked tired. No where to put your shampoo etc except shower tray. Water hot, extractor didn't work. We were expecting noise as next to pub but wasn't expecting to be kept awake by other residents letting doors bang close as they had no soft close action. There was a couple in the room above who didn't arrive till 1.30am, there was no sound proofing between floors so we heard every step he made all night, back and forth to bathroom all night. He also had a nasty, chesty cough which kept him, and us, awake! The curtains looked like they had shrunk in the wash and didn't cover the window sill. On the up side....the heater worked well and the bed was comfy! In the morning there was no staff member to complain to. Won't stay there again.

Stayed here for a funeral. We had travelled from Devon. The location was great, staff friendly and helpful. The only thing I did find was a stain on the bed runner and cobwebs in several places in the room. It is attached to a lovely pub where we went in the evening for a couple of drinks.

Staff lovely but the room was very dated, the bathroom was dirty the shower gel was empty the hand soap was pink water. 2 tea bags. Comfty beds. I think it could do with a bit of updating. Actual key entry parking is free which is good
