Don't believe the other reviews, they are clearly fake....
The flies. The flies. The flies.... They were everywhere. The hotel even supplied a can of Raid fly spray with our welcome pack... That didn't bode well. There were 10 or so bluebottle flies in every room I went into in the hotel. In our bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms... Even the bar/ restaurant. I don't know why there were so many, but we couldn't sit outside on our patio due to the smell of rubbish/ garbage. It was overpowering... Really strong kitchen grease garbage smell. I've no idea how people on the beer garden patio could stand it.... Maybe the smell and the flies were connected. Also, there was no house keeping for the entirety of our stay... I know the hotel is three star, but for the money (nearly £350 a night), no daily house keeping is terrible. There were also cigarette butts left on the balcony outside the master bedroom. Also the pool was so heavily treated with a substance that I could not see my feet when standing in it.
The place looks and feels tired. It also doesn't feel clean either.
Breakfast was nice for two of the three mornings. On our last morning, the kitchen couldn't be bothered to cook pancakes and served Warburton's pre bought pancakes instead. Not impressed. The staff were really nice, friendly and helpful however.
Don't stay here. There are way better places to stay for cheaper in the area...

Best Hotel in the lake district. Perfect breakfast fantastic, whinlatter and bassenthwaite rooms are perfect for families. Fantastic view from the hotel. Dinner at the hotel is also lovely and lovely roads nearby for drives. Cannot fault.

What an amazing few days and nights. The service was superb, friendly, relaxed and always on hand. The room was spot on. (self contained apartment.) Really comfortable bed, shower was amazing, pool was lively. The food was absolutely fantastic! Will defo be going back. Ideal location to explore the North lakes!

Honest review ☆☆☆☆☆ Great stay excellent views staff extremely attentive food is excellent I suggest going for the tomahawk steak unbelievable... we will be back thank you for the swim needed that in the 34 degrees heat we had great stay and will be back

Really enjoyed our stay here, staff were very friendly, food was really good we had bost breakfast and dinner. Room was clean and spacious. Great value for money

visited while on business in the area. Hotel has stunning views and is set in a great location. Rooms are very nice with an impressive bathroom. Ate in the on site resturant aswell. Had the pulled pork burger which was perfectly cooked and tasted great. Had a great sleep on the very comfy bed aswell! Breakfast was good, i chose the pancakes which was just enough for me. Also nipped into the pool which has very restricted times if your staying as a guest. However managed to get in for a morning swim despite lack of changing rooms. Overall, a great stay!

Amazing and helpful staff who would go out of their way to offer the best service We were a group of ten with no prior booking We were given their most spectacular suite with amazing views at a great rate Rooms were very clean and beds super comfy Cooked breakfast was really good Located at the heart of Keswick area with a short drive to the lake and the shops

We had a pleasant stay at embleton. Mattress was a little uncomfortable but the food was good and we had everything we required from the room. That said, I woke up one night and saw a ghost. Never happened before in my life. Could have been sleep paralysis of some sort I suppose but certainly made it a memorable stay!!!!
