PSCed to Molesworth, checked website and tried to call to get place to stay 2 months out, for my children and I. Everything/everybody said "no availability". So got a hotel off post. When I arrived, went to get SONA and the lady at front desk insulted me, belittled me, and told me they had room, and she was not going to issue me anything. Then when I tried to check in she gave me availability for 2 days, then check out for a day, come back, check back in....etc. I'm a single father of 5, 2 of which traveled with me (ages 4 and 5), served 18 yrs, 5 deployments...and this is the welcome I get to the UK. Anyway, she ended up calling a manager, and putting me in a house, but continued the attitude. I stopped by later, and tried to use the computers, still transient, waiting on a 3 bedroom to open up, and was denied. Looked at the log and nobody had used the computers all day, but the front lady at the couldnt allow me to get on for 10 min to check my email. My experience with this hotel has been horrible. I could understand being turned away, or even disrespected due to heavy activity, but Alconbury is not busy. Seems to me the staff at the Brittania has no customer service training, no respect for Vets, and total disregard for incoming SM, Sailors, AM, who have traveled thousands of miles with family members to a completely foreign country. I will never stay there again, even if it means staying at a hotel off post, out of my own pocket.

The AF Inn was very clean and comfortable, just wish they had breakfast.

Friendly helpful staff and the rooms are suitable for a few weeks if needed.

Not a great choice, if you can avoid it. Despite two-room accommodations, the hotel is outdated and somewhat in disrepair. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable, and it was only staffed until 1700. They have an evening check in option, but it's not possible to log into the computers or grab a coffee. Next time I visit, I'm going to look for an off-base hotel willing to match the on-base rate as I'm confident that The Britannia Inn will never have to issue a non-availability letter.

The service was excellent. The staff there were very nice and responded fantastically to all questions. The beds were fine and the rooms were plenty warm. The kitchen was actually decent it had pots and pans and silverware for you to use. The room had plenty of electrical outlets enough to start a business if you really wanted to. It's fine if you just want to stay a day or two.

The AF needs to update the inn. Felt like I took a trip back to the 80s. Water also had some problems smelled and tasted a bit off. I don't know if it was due to the old pipes or water source but definitely something going on. There were stalagmites and stalagtites starting along the walkways due to lack of upkeep. My room had three light bulbs burnt out and one that flickered like it came right out of a horror movie. After spending quarantine and three weeks trying to find a house it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.
