My friend booked a night for us in this pub, as we were going to a nearby festival , no breakfast is provided, unless special ask for at extra cost, pub closes at 10pm. But we got back 9.40 already closed to use Internet you need to buy a drink, rooms very basic. Beds uncomfortable, would not stay here again, worst stay ever had👎👎😨😨

This was a really odd stay. A mixture of excellent and poor. We were greeted well and it seemed that nothing would be too much trouble. The next morning a breakfast we were treated very rudely for "being late for breakfast" at 08:25 (breakfast is served until 9 according to the note in the room and the manager. The cooked breakfast itself was excellent, freshly cooked and high quality - but, no other choice (fruit cereal) is available. They have no alternatives to milk (soyas etc) and no way of addressing a gluten free diet "there is no demand". We all ate out on the second day at an excellent cafe near Sainsbury's.
The room we had was tiny and dark. The light over the sink did not work and the single lightbulb in the bathroom made shaving a bit of a challenge. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were clean was clean. two daughters and freinds had three other rooms that were bright and more spacious, absolutely fine.
I managed to wreck a duvet cover and they did not want me to pay for the damage I caused by my carelessness, thanks for that.
So, really dificult to sum up. for a short business stay for someone looking for a comfortable bed and a traditional breakfast I would give it four or five stars. For everyone on a special diet or who does not want to be up at the crack of dawn two stars.
Oh, and buy a hairdrier you can lend out!

Friendly owner but the bar and dining room were deserted on a Saturday evening which is a bit tragic. Stayed for 1 night. Room reservation suggested it would be a double bed and breakfast. Both weren’t correct. I think all the rooms have twin beds and no sign of breakfast in the morning. Dining room locked. The room was clean but could probably do with a fresh coat of paint.
As breakfast wasn’t available, went down the road to Wild & Green Kitchen (about a 5 minute walk) for a great Sunday breakfast.

Lovely location and outside bar area. But the clientele... They can't be feeling good today. Some state...

We didn't sleep in one of the rooms so I can't comment on that but the pub itself is lovely. Very inviting. Dining area looked amazing. Has a big back garden aswell so the children loved using the space.

The staff in their 50s is very unfriendly, even though I thought the place had improved thanks to the new management. avoid far away

Didn't stay but had an exceptionally good roast and don't forget to have the hot chocolate fudge cake. Reasonably priced too. Would definitively go again.
