We are booking to stay here again, dog friendly, fabulous location - great parking and the nicest welcome at reception. I am so sorry I never wrote down your name to the lady who checked us in and out - but you were very vigilant and professional and we are staying again because of you. Waking up Sunday morning to the quiet cathedral bells was lovely. The room on the second floor was bright, very well-decorated and clean. Considering the jaunty angles of the historic building they have done a great job. Book breakfast & dinner as people come from all around so busy. There are also quiet areas to eat which is great.

We had a lovely room, seems like it might have been renovated quite recently. The only issue we had was the noise levels. First being that our room was on the front of the hotel, which is right next to a main road making it quite noisy, even through the windows. We also found that none of the hotel room doors had very good soft closing, and would close slowly to begin, then slam quite hard which was particularly noisy with people coming in all through the night. If you're a particularly light sleeper like myself, I'd definitely try and ask for a room towards the back of the hotel.

*Since writing the review, a private Christmas party seems to have started downstairs at 10:30pm. There was no notice of this party happening, and the first we knew of it was coming back to the hotel at 7pm where the lobby was full of people that were not guests, stopping us from easily getting to our room. The music is particularly loud (perhaps we're above the function room?) but it's particularly contradictory when the TV's in rooms are limited to 50 to keep the noise levels down. We understand that these parties are good guaranteed income, but not at the cost of your guests comfort.

*Just popped down to reception at 11:30pm to ask about the noise levels and was asked to make sure all the doors were closed upstairs and that all the live music/events finish at midnight. So if you need a good night sleep and an early night for an early start, not that great. We're currently playing guess the song from our bed because the lyrics are easily clear enough to make out.

I stayed in the hotel for 4 days and I believe the room rates are reasonable. The breakfast is good but it's the same everyday. I think this is common in every big hotel. Accors hotels don't wait for the guests to ask for water and soft drinks, they just refill your room fridge daily. The front desk staffers are very polite, jovial and helpful. Overall, I had a good stay and I will be back.

Booked for a corporate event, the hotel is quite old and has a nice feel. Because of this it was a little cramped for the event. Food was served at lunch, but layout, placemenynof plated etc meant you could not select one side of the table as the plates were at the furthest end!
The room was too small for the event and surprisingly cool. The Tea and coffee were limited, and other drinks very minimal. Overall the event was successful, but layout, room and planning limited its appeal.

I think its a stretch to call the White Hart a 4 star hotel. The rooms weren't finished that well. We arrived at the rear car park late evening an there wasn't any lighting which made it hard to see. The restaurant wasn't the best. My burger was overcooked and the chips and onion rings were frozen (onion rings were awful and tasted like doughnut batter). My partners risotto was tasteless. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant but the bar staff were friendly. The receptionist wasn't particularly friendly or inviting.
The location however was perfect and as central as you need it to be.

... but overall experience a mixture. Pleasant welcome, friendly staff in all areas, and impossible to fault for its central location. Very satisfactory breakfasts (didn't eat dinner, but pretty average menu) but all the good points are undermined by the building. It's old, and it is what it is, but the interior needs a lot of TLC: room furniture (beds and chairs) need replacing and decor needs some clear thinking.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the hotel with just a few exceptions. I was given a quiet and very pleasant room over looking the car park as requested. The bed was good but the pillows were not - they were all the same - too hard. I had to go to Tesco and buy some softer ones and I would have liked a box of tissues in the room too. I am not a fan of cooked breakfast and would have preferred a continental with ham and cheese. These things apart, my stay was made really enjoyable by all your charming, helpful and delightful staff.

A wonderful two day stay. The hotel just seems perfect in the historical section of Salisbury. The staff were exception, with a ready smile and cheerful greeting. They took such pride in giving excellent service even though slightly short staffed. Everyone just fell in and got the job done. Old Year's Eve was sharing the dining room with a group of choir singers and they also seemed to love it all . Thank you to each of the staff.
