Clean rooms, TV, kettle, shower etc work perfectly. Breakfast is fantastic, great location too - very central. Only complaint is that the WIFI doesn't extend to rooms; it's only in the reception/bar area, and even there it doesn't work. Why is this still a thing in 2015??

The room was fine, slightly tired looking perhaps but perfectly clean. The bed was quite small, and not very comfortable, and pillows felt well used & too spongy. The staff were excellent and breakfast superb. However, our room overlooked the back of the hotel, and unfortunately a Wetherspoons - at kicking out time the revelers made a racket for a good hour, and the windows did nothing to dampen the noise, so a very disturbed night of sleep!

Old hotel, so bit creeky and tired looking. Could do with refurb. Doors open inwards directly into bedrooms, so can be a lack of privacy. Initial room too noisy. Opened onto train station. Ironically trains noise was minimal, although noise from slamming car doors and alarms throughout night were problematical! However clean rooms, full english breakfast was good.
Hotel staff friendly and moved us to another room on request. Good central location. Good for commuters.

First the positives, spacious rooms friendly helpful staff and central location. Unfortunately these are outweighed by the negatives. The heating is woeful and you'll need the extra fan heater, the furniture would be rejected by a charity shop and the bed was not the most comfortable, the restaurant area was also pretty cold . You could say that there was plenty of fresh air in the room thanks to the ill fitting windows and that you did not need an alarm thanks to the first train arriving at 5:30 but I am afraid that this hotel needs some major work to bring it up to a reasonable standard.

Stayed here on Saturday night, the staff were welcoming and the room was ideal, modern enough and plenty of space. We had to wake the staff up very late (like 2am!) as we had lost our keys and they were so lovely about it, didn’t make us feel like the annoyance we were! And then on Monday I got a call that they had found my earrings that I had not realised yet that I had lost and they posted them recorded delivery that day! What a fantastic service and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel and the wonderful staff. Huge thanks! X

Stayed a few nights while visiting RIAT 2017. Not too bad a location, easily accessible by Train, car and bus. Managed to find a car parking space at the rear with not too many problems.

Room was roomy and had acceptable levels of comfort and cleanliness. Staff were friendly and food was OK. We missed breakfast one morning as we had to set of early for the airshow and it was served a little bit later. No problem with this.

Stroud itself was an 'interesting' experience - We found the local Witherspoon's to be a decent enough place to get dinner and drinks - Lively, cheap and friendly enough.

Very reasonably priced and would stay again and recommend.

Lovely hotel - poor rude and offensive staff.
Arriving at this lovely hotel i was greeted by two polite and informative gentlemen who gave general directions and rule to the establishment, a folded piece of paper was given and i was told to read it.
CHECK OUT- i got knocked on 3-4 times at just after 1000hrs,
Walking downstairs i'm faced with rude member of staff who actually came to my room once already, she told me that she was charging my card for staying in to room too long it was around 1040, (bearing in mind i was never verbally given a check out time) one assumed it was like most at 11. In an event THIS being the main complaint is the female staffs attitude, it was disgusting, shouting calling me a liar, saying i knew about the check out time, because 'the men' told me.
I simply said if i was told to be out by 1000 i would of been out by 0945, i assumed it was 1100 and with no signage in the room and nothing verbal i went along with leaving at or before 1100.
This rude member of staff threw a tantrum, left the bar and said she wouldn't speak to me any more and she's going to and get the men.
When she was gone i noticed discrepancies on my room bills also... Which the female got even more angry at and just pointed at the signature that I made.
The two gentlemen staff were kind throughout and well mannered.

A very tired place clearly working on a strict budget. No cost is spared here.

Breakfast is minimal as is the service. The room was spacious but the "double" bed was two singles pushed together. And very old, springy singles that were incredibly uncomfortable. Won't be returning in a rush!
