Friendly helpful staff, room was very nice and stylish with lovely views over the gardens. Bed was very comfortable. There were pipes, that make a terrible noise, rattling away at regular intervals. The noise started at 06:30 in the morning, not sure if it's heating or running water that causes them to be set off. This was the worst aspect of my stay. The splash back on the hand basin that's made of wood was a bit damaged from water, could do with a bit of refurbishment work there. Otherwise it was great. Everything was nice and clean. Hotel has a lovely reception and lounge areas and gardens. Didn't get a chance to try the food sadly. I would book again.

Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely, friendly staff and very good breakfast.

My only issue was the shower, nearly slipped over in it so think it could maybe do with some anti slip devices in it.

Good: Friendly and accommodating staff and a lovely pub environment. Comfy bed. Well equipped room.
Not good: Bathroom had a terrible and strong smell of sewage. Shower tiles very mouldy, it was clear they had not been cleaned in some time (when I rubbed the mould with a finger it came off). Noise continued late outside the room from the pub courtyard below which was an issue because of an early work call I had the following morning meaning I was trying to sleep from 9:30pm.

Loved the hotel, the food in the restaurant was great. We can’t comment on the lake or grounds as the weather was awful. Just a couple of minor niggles - we didn’t figure out how to use the toiletries dispensers until just before we left as there was a band around the bottle necks which had to be removed. In the restaurant, staff should be trained to tell diners if any items are unavailable when they bring the menus - we spent a while choosing, but then my first and second choices weren’t available when staff came to take our order.
My real niggle is more important but less easy to solve - the ridge in the bed where the 2 mattresses were joined together.
Nevertheless we were very impressed and will definitely return as soon as we can find an excuse. The decor throughout was lovely and the staff delightful.

The rooms had been freshly decorated and the smell of paint was overwhelming. Our original room had a patio door that we couldn't open to ease the smell. We were moved to another room. Despite coffee and tea being provided there were no kettles in the rooms until day 2 of our stay and no water provided.
The new decor although lovely and atmospheric made the rooms extremely dark, the positioning of the ceiling lights made it hard to see anything and putting makeup on wasxan impossibility.
The heated towel rail in the bathroom was off, we eventually found the on switch on our last night, but the bathroom was cold without it, the fan was inadequate so the room was full of steam. The shower didn't drain properly so at least our feet were warm in an ankle deep puddle whilst we showered.
We ordered wine with dinner our first night. My initial choice was not available and the suggested replacement was £5 more a glass, which was not highlighted and a bit of a shock when the bill arrived.
No vegan fry up available, as I am dairy allergic I asked for a choice of main fry up with added bits, this was not possible so I had smashed avocado on sourdough all morning. It was beautifully presented but I was disappointed not to have alternatives available.
The system for breakfast meant at least 2 mornings we were asked to pay for a breakfast we'd paid for with our room, very embarrassing.

Staff were really helpful and did their best to resolve issues.

As lovely as the Inn is, we felt it had been rushed to open and they really weren't ready for guests. We unfortunately would not recommend this to friends or family

Excellent, loved the room and ensuite, loads of hot water. The best selection of ales and wines I've seen in a long time. Food and selection fantastic, cooked to perfection and the presentation was to die for. I eat with my eyes!! finaly the start of every day was a joy with Nikki so helpful and full of happiness and joy, the best front of house at the worst time of day. Tank you Nikki.

The room was comfortable and clean but I could hear noise from the room above. I was also disappointed at the lack of lighting and signage at the front if your building and could not find the entrance as it was dark. I ended up walking up the back exterior stairs in the dark and it was icy weather. Very unsafe.

Great breakfast and a nice room with trouser hanger/iron in the cupboard. Easy parking, friendly and diverse staff.
