Guildford Harbour Hotel & Spa

I was lucky enough to stay here for a week as part of a large booking. It was very luxurious with friendly people working there. My room was a great size, with nice decor and a very comfortable bed and great bathroom. I really enjoyed my stay. I'd like to come back and next time use the spa and pool which sadly I didn't have time for on this occasion.

I've experienced a number of harbour hotels and very used to the set up. The reception experience was very good and the foyer wonderfully designed. The rooms however were not of the usual standard. Black wood and red materials gave it an 80s look and room 318 had a tatty lamp and rough edges. Bathroom nice though. Using the spa was nice but there was a private function right next to it with a DJ and dance music was blasting and definitely not tranquil. Seems funny that you have people being quiet in the spa and respecting their own personal noise level for other spa goers but you struggled to hear someone right next to you because of BBQ and dance music happening. We weren't warned when booking our session that this was happening. I won't say it ruined the experience which was a treat for a friend's 30th birthday, but like the rooms, I've come to expect certain things from the harbour hotel brand. Cocktails were great and didn't experience any food. Staff were friendly. Usually harbour hotels get a 5 star review so I'll give this a 4.

Review for a spa treatment: very average. I had two treatments, massages last year. Both times I left relaxed, very good. Great experienced staff. I even invited a friend with me for the second visit!
This year the staff changed and very young. I was cold after masage... Had to warm up in the car. It was warmer outside of the treatment room than inside. I didn't feel like I had a treatment. £75 is very overpriced for such a treatment...

I requested a quiet room away from the lifts, fire doors etc. several months in advance and had my request confirmed. Still got booked into a room a couple of doors from the lifts. And the cot I was given didn't even have proper sheets. They used towels. Unbelievable!

What truly stands out in this hotel is its staff. The women and men at the Harbour help you with a smile on the slightest issues. They make all the effort to make you feel good from the reception, to the bar, to the restaurant, to housekeeping. From the moment I checked in, I felt that the staff checked in with me as well--now I'm talking specifically about you, Milena.

In the sum of it all, the Harbour management understands what it is to run a modern hotel, not just in its infrastructure, but also through its diverse employees. They are an example of a cosmopolitan world.

Lovely hotel. The staff at the desk were super friendly and smiley. The room was a good size. The bathroom was great with a bath and shower. I liked the ironing board/trouser press in the wardrobe. The bed was comfy. The bar was opened till at least 2, with a great selection of spirits. Breakfast was delicious. Didn't get to use the spa facilities, so I will be back another day.

Great stay and very nice breakfast. The hotel has that premium feel to it, but unfortunately I can't give 5 stars as maintenance is not as good. Some parts In the bathroom were a little broken. Overall very happy though.

Spent a 2 nights getaway with my boyfriend and we had the best time at this hotel. Staff are so welcoming and friendly. Also willing to help, we felt super comfortable. Will be back in the new year. One of the best hotels I’ve been to i even wish I stayed longer.
