Royal Ashton Hotel

Location was perfectly convenient for an overnight stop. Staff lovely and friendly. Some narrow stairs to get to the upper floors, which could have been tricky with bigger bags. Comfy, warm, clean!

There was some confusion on our part when booking the room. Since I was traveling with my daughter, we were wanting two single beds and not one double. We thought that was what we booked, but at check-in we found out that was not the case. Emma very graciously and efficiently contacted her boss, then got the staff to re-configure the room. She did all this in less time than it took for us to go get a quick bite to eat. Thanks everyone!

The staff here are all very friendly and seem to work very well together. Also, the location is just a short walk from the train station, Morrisons, Taunton town center and the Somerset County cricket club.

If ever in Taunton or near then I highly recommend staying here. Staff are so polite and friendly. Stay here was such a pleasure. Beds are really comfortable too. Had a really good nights sleep.

Stayed over last night (23/8/22) with my partner and went out for the evening to a friends, when we returned the reception guy had removed our belongings from our room (even tho we left a do not disturb sign on the door) my partners wallet was in the room and we had unpacked our stuff. That was threw into a plastic bag and we where changed rooms. To a smaller dingy room... all because the receptionist apparently gave us the wrong roomsuch a disappointing experience.

This hotel in ideally located just 5 mins walk from Taunton train station. 15min walk straight down the main shopping road to town.

There are plenty of rooms available with a maned receptionist on all day. The staircases are very creaky and some are very narrow, however all have handy hand rails.
Room was nice and cozy with aini fridge, cutlery and crockery in the room. They also included some handy extention leads.

Great location 5 min walk to train station, 10 mins into town, 5 mins to large supermarket and canal walks. On a street with many restaurants. Staff very friendly, polite and helpful. Nice reception area and luggage storage available. Rooms with mini fridge, crockery, cutlery and ensuite. On a busy street so there is traffic noise. I had Premium single room it was small and although very clean and with all you need don't know what made it 'premium'. Great for overnight or if you just need place to sleep.

Booked for my partner birthday weekend onley wanted something cheap close to train and not to far to walk into town staff are very very friendly had a lovely conversation with the deputy manager and was very helpful and very king i would definitely recommend staying herhere if u here if ur looking for somwhere cheap definitely will come again

Very convenient for railway station. Comfortable room with kitchenette. Better than a 4* that I stayed in in London recently
