Booked in and straight to room, no toilet roll, plug blocked and no soap in dispenser, curtains ripped. Moved to new room. The included breakfast looks very basic and the free WiFi needs a code. We haven't slept in our room yet but don't have a good feeling!

Desk was unmanned when we arrived and we had to wait for someone. The heat was stifling, there was a fan, but aircon would have been nice. Bathroom was spotless but there was a mcdonalds ice cream plastic spoon under the bed. Great location though.

It is a two-star hotel and it ticks all the boxes for the basics. Water pressure is very good for hot and cold water, rooms are spacious enough with excellent toilet facilities. TV is freeview but that's fair. Overall, it's a decent deal for the price.

Terrible experience!! (ROOM GIVEN AWAY). We had booked a family room (paid £99) 3 weeks before arriving. We had been in Birmingham for an afternoon at the Commonwealth games. We arrive at our Travelodge at 10pm to be told that our room had been given away because "we didn't think you were coming". We had not received a phone call to even ask us! It is supposed to be a 24hr check in! The person who ultimately had given our room away called a manager (who we were told by the guy on reception would not speak directly to us on the phone). There were no rooms available in local Travelodges or any other hotels (due to the Commonwealth games). We therefore were unable to stay around Birmingham and missed out on our second day at The Commonwealth games. After over an hour in the hotel reception with 2 young children falling asleep on the floor of the reception, we eventually had to make the decision to drive 2.5 hours back home again to put our young girls to bed.
2 weeks later, we still had not received a refund or any sort of apology from Travelodge. Disgusting service! We made a complaint via the travelodge website, only to receive an email back (despite the fact that the Travelodge website says it will contact the customer by telephone). 2 emails from Travelodge reporting that they would refund us the £99 (the second of which was a cut a paste email from the first, after a further email from me asking to be called to discuss the matter). We did not receive a phone call from Travelodge at any point. No compensation received for this incident. Would definitely not recommend Travelodge if you want to guarentee that your room will be available.

On a side note; someone who was staying in a family room walked through reception at that time and reported to reception that the family room "stank of sewerage"!

Basic room, arrived 40mins to early after traveling over 200 miles for grandaugters birthday. 'jobs worth!!' told us couldn't book in until 3pm, could if we paid £10, room was ready no one else booking in.Had no choice but to pay as we couldn't wait the 40 mins as meal booked in Nuneaton for family get together.
Perhaps if common sense had prevailed with the lady in question we wouldn't feel so annoyed, we use this Travelodge quite regularly, will think twice in future.

good sized room, lovely water temperature, staff are kind. Got all the basics and there’s a harvester right next door. Really like this travelodge and will definitely stay again. Highly recommended.
