The Black Swan Coaching Inn Pickering - Hotel

We went there in search of a table as we had not booked anywhere in Pickering. We were escorted outside to a seated area and given a menu mainly consisting of burgers,pizza and pasta. The staff were very friendly and polite and overall a great choice. We ordered a chicken burger and meat feast pizza which was absolutely amazing. Homemade chicken burger, beautifully presented and tasted delicious. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his pizza along with thick cut chips.
Would definitely recommend and without a doubt be returning to this delightful place.

Just a one night stay but a fantastic experience. A beautiful hotel. Well situated. Great service. Staff were polite and helpful. Great breakfast. Room was lovely with attention to detail. Worth every penny. Would visit again.

We decided to eat here because it serves pizza which looked amazing on the website. When we arrived and were sat at our table we were told pizza was off the menu. When I asked about the other specials as seen on their website these were also off the menu due to the usual chef not being in. The main seemed to take some time to come out and I had the chicken gyros platter. A lot of the chicken was charcoaled and it wasn’t what I considered a platter.
Portion sizes for prices for me weren’t great. And I don’t like the fact that they put on 10% service charge. If I want to tip because service is good I feel that should be at my discretion. An expensive meal but sadly not worth it

Well what a place, I have never met such a friendly and accommodating staff. A huge thank you to Phil, Jill,Gemma and Callum who made us feel so welcome. My sister, friend and I ate there over our 3 day stay in Pickering. The food was excellent. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Enjoyed a lovely evening meal. It was very tastefully decorated and lovely and clean. Food was delicious. Just found the wine over priced and without a wine list you could study with it being on a tablet device it made it hard to choose.

Stopped in for a pint and the locally brewed beer was great, and the staff were very friendly. The pub is dog friendly which was an added bonus. The outdoor sitting area is lovely as well.

Ok for a one night stay evening meal was adequate had to send it back as it had a pile of coleslaw which wasn't listed on the menu. Also never given option of chips or fries very small amount on plate to other diner's portion's (more like a child's portion)
Breakfast was again very poor, also like a child's portion which consisted of 1 small sausage 1 rasher of bacon half a tomato & a very small ramekin of cold beans & 1 slice of cold toast, for £125.00 a night bit of a rip-off really. And the noise below our room (Room 2) was terrible had to try & drown it out with the TV.
We were both very disappointed as it was our wedding anniversary.

Huge thank you to Jill and her team who looked after us so well. The Black Swan is a cosy and welcoming hotel in a great location. Staff are friendly and helpful, we will definitely look forward to staying again. I highly recommend.
