4 of us had Sunday lunch, there was too much food to eat! It was tasty, well presented but we ended up putting a lot of the meat into a doggy bag!! Well worth a visit.

Very pleasant and welcoming.
Staff were obliging and professional.
Very good menu with a selection of hearty food and generous portions of all three courses on offer. Our order arrived quickly and all at the same time, we were a party of ten.
When in Usk again will definitely be visiting the Kings Head Hotel again.
Thank you for a very enjoyable time.

Went as part of a large party. Be aware the portions are on the large side (not a complaint). I had the Curry half and half this time and it was very tasty. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

25/11/22: USK Weekend Break. Had a lovely time in Usk and partook in a few craft ales, mainly Wye Valley Brewery: Buty Bach. A very warm welcome here, friendly staff, a locals pub and a roaring fire in the front room. Very cosy. Dog friendly!

History: A family run pub that offers traditional pub food and a wide selection of drinks including real ales. Accommodation available. A history dating as far back as 1588, they offer tradional surroundings and a roaring log fire when cold dark nights call.

It's a Grade II listed building, on the corner of New Market Street, facing down MIll Street and close to the former Town Hall.

The Kings Head comprises of two units behind an extending facade. The oldest part of the building is said to date back to 1590's, substantially remodelled and enlarged circa 17th Century. Extended to the right possibly as in the early 19th Centrury, showing contemporary Georgian refenestration of the front. Some modern alterations, including unsympathetic glazing.

Internally the bar to the left retains beamed ceiling with closely spaced unchamfered joists and very deep chamfer to narrow cross beam; stepped stone fireplace to left gable with low timber lintel. The wall appears to have been built out beyond the line of the earlier large-stoned fireplace. The right end of the bar is stepped down and seems formerly to have been a partition or crossbeam here. Supported by 2 feather stop chamfered vertical posts. Joists are remarkably long. Small stone fireplace with timber lintel. The staircase handrail sweeps up and the 1st floor has panelled and boarded doors. One room has massive cross beam with fillet stop chamfer. Part of 17th Century roof structure is visible in the attic rooms. The right hand half is extensively modernised for hotel use. Later additions to rear neer garden.

Young staff are very professional.
The food is very good.
The chef from Galicia nice as always.
The atmosphere is great.
Nicely decorated.

Something the manager could do is to provide workers with a nice uniform with the name of the pub. 😉
