I've been in the Kings Arms several times for a pint when in Abergavenny, but until recently had never eaten there. The bar and restaurant are clean and cosy. There are always lots of people sat outside in the summer and there is a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere whether you are inside or out.

We decided to give Sunday lunch a try at the Kings Arms and were not disappointed. The food and service was excellent and good value for money. We will definitely be going back and are looking forward to our next visit. Higher recommended!

We visited this pub/restaurant today and found it a very welcoming place to stay. We stayed in the top room (11) (some steep steps) which was very clean and modern & very comfortable. The bar areas are welcoming & staff are friendly. (They sell Moretti so I'm happy) We had a meal in the restaurant which was very welcoming & the staff were great ,My only thing was there was a poor selection of steaks as we usually have Fillet but there was only sirloin.... Apart from that a great stay , We will be back soon.

Visited today with the family for a birthday and left disappointed, the food wasn't great considering the small menu choice. The soup was very nice and hot, the beef dinner was ok but it didn't come to the table hot. Most of the staff were very nice and when we arrived it showed great promise. There were just a few staff that could do with some customer service tips, like not making you feel they are judging you for your menu choices or requests and do need to bare in mind that some people do have eating disorders, so going out to eat is a big thing. I don't think i will be going back in hurry. Its my honest review of my experience and i do hope if i did return that it was just them having an off day and the next time is better.

The King's Arms is not a high end luxury hotel, but your common luxury hotel isn't 400 years old. The King's Arms is exactly what you would expect a wattle and daub building from the late 1500's and which may have hosted Charles I as he fled from Cromwell. The stairs are steep in places, the floors aren't level, some of the rooms have head-bangingly low beams. Some rooms are in very quirky places. It is authentic to what it is.

Food is excellent.

The King's Arms is well located at the edge of the pedestrian only section of Abergavenny with a car park across the street. It is in easy walking distance of the castle.

Not disability friendly.

A pub for all seasons and all occasions! We have enjoyed great nights here, seen many live bands, celebrated family birthdays with a meal here (and we have a lot of family!!), attended wakes, weddings, and often just pop in for a drink whilst walking the dogs. Lovely place.

Very pleased with our Christmas meal for the whole family at the.Kings arms.
The staff were very helful, pleasant, and attentive. We were a family party of 7, and everyone enjoyed their meal.
The only small comment was that the turkey was not presented as being carved, but rolled and sliced.

We have just stayed for 3 nights whilst visiting family in the area. There was a lovely atmosphere and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. It was a great stay and we will definitely visit again.

I stayed here as part of my Christmas party, the rooms were lovely and were well priced at £75 for a room and breakfast. There is alot of parking around and the staff were accomadating, note one critism I have is that they do lock up at night so you have to be back at a certain time.
Our christmas meal and breakfast was delicious and had a good night's sleep here.
Overall I enjoyed my stay there and would recommend it to others.
