I took my Land Rover Discovery Sports car for regular servicing at Looker Land Rover, Chelmsford on Thursday 22/09. They charged me £1,700 for the servicing of the car. They said that they carried out some investigation around warning related to engine but it is perfectly fine to drive and take home. They said that they have raised case with Land Rover, but refused to share details of the case with me.
On the following day on Friday 23/09, my car broke down when I was doing school run with engine started making horrible noise. It had to be rescued back to Lookers on Friday evening. The preliminary checks were carried out after 5 days, when Charlie Sheen (Service Advisor) dropped me an email stating that there is a possibility of engine replacement and asked me to check if the quote can be sent. I would have expected Charlie to call me instead of sending a casual note stating possibility of engine failure via email.
My car was working perfectly fine just before the service. I believe that the damage to engine has been introduced by service team deliberately or by mistake during check-ups. Furthermore, it is responsibility of Lookers to perform thorough checks before sending message with guesswork.
I wish I had never taken this car for servicing at Looker Land Rover Chelmsford. They are rogue people in this trade and shame to the car service industry. They misguide and cheat customers with deliberate issue and unreasonable charges.
I am without any car with 5 days now and immobile. I wouldn’t recommend unreliable Land Rover brand. If you happen to own one – do not take it to Lookers Land Rover Chelmsford.

Within 20 minutes I had received a thorough video just made by Jake of the car inside and out. Within the next hour I travelled an hour to meet Jake and see the car in person. Jake allowed me to test drive the car by myself and thereafter I ended up buying the car from him.
Jake was a thorough professional, dealing with all of my items that I needed addressing before handover. Yesterday, the car was handed to me with every item that I had asked for met. First class service.
