Disappointing! I really want to swim so thought to join as it’s my local leisure centre. The membership tour was slack and the lady didn’t really know what she was talking about. She was a bit rude about my name as well but I let it pass. I had a 7 day free trial and loved the swimming facilities and the gym. Decided to join and was told that I won’t have to pay a joining fee because of the free trial but the lady didn’t know how to remove the joining fee so told me to pay it (£69 instead of £39) and I’d be refunded a few days later. 4 days later and no refund but got a call saying can’t it just be deducted from my next pay - NO! Then told it’ll take up to 10 working days. They seem like they don’t know what they’re doing. She also booked me in for a gym induction and told me it’s at 12pm so I went on my lunch break but it was actually at 1pm.. luckily the reception staff were helpful!! I’m going to stay because I like the swimming but what a palava to join!! Do it online and avoid the membership team.

Very nice sports centre with a café with big windows to look out the park. Shame the café closes quite early. The sport hall is nice with a wooden floor and decent lighting. 6 badminton courts.

Pretty disappointed, visited the centre today to use the Steam Room and Sauna.

Was around £8 to use the facility, however upstairs the cold shower isn’t even fixed to the wall literally just hangs off the wall so thumbs up there . . .

Also the water fountain/dispensing unit upstairs in the sauna area is out of action, so if you want more water you have to walk all the way back through the chanting area out past reception in your swimming gear through to the male changing room to get water, then only to find the door code they give you for the health suite does not work.

Meaning you have to go back to reception dripping in your swim shorts to get a new code to go back up.

The steam room isn’t very hot and smells grubby.

All the while you have to pay to park at the centre if you are a non member . . .

Reminds me why I left John Warner + Laura Trott centre (Dual membership) and joined a decent gym.

Shame as I thought maybe the health suite area might have improved, looks like it has only got worse as for the above and removal of the jacuzzi.

Classic council job, don’t care.

The gym itself at Laura trott is okay, but health suite naaa

Great Badminton court. Staff often allow extra time if there is nobody else playing.

I bought 1 year membership, when I went to pick up my card I was shocked how I was treated by the guy with brown hair from the GYM.He was very arrogant and rude because I dint want hem to give me tour in the GYM.I told hem I know the building well so I dont need then he get very rude with me.So management should check on employees because with this attitude nobody should be treated.I never go back again

Came to use the badminton courts - nice centre. Only saw the courts for badminton. Didn’t see the rest of the centre. There is plenty of parking also.

Disappointing. I signed up because they had a black Friday deal saying you get one month free. I wanted to join anyway so it seemed like a no brainer. But catch is that you can't use the gym unless you have had the induction. So I booked the induction only for the gym to cancel the induction because they are short staffed. The only available slot is for a week after I originally signed up. I did ask the girl on the phone how it makes sense as surely I'd loose a week worth of gym membership so if I was paying I'd be paying for a week that I wouldnt even be allowed to use and surely there would be compensation. The girl didnt have any answers, it's not really her fault and she was polite but the people running the place are taking advantage.
