The Border Practice

Such a difficult task to get an appointment here and when you do 1 whole hour after my appointment time I am still in the waiting room patiently waiting for my FIVE minutes appointment. The appointment system needs to be reviewed and improved. It’s one hurdle after the other. First when calling, it’s user busy and when it finally connects you’d have to wait for someone to answer only to be told no appointment available most times. When you are lucky to get a 5 minutes appointment it’s going to cost you about an hour of your time. Very far from ideal! 2 stars for availability of parking space.

This practice has had some negative reviews but I would like to say how happy my husband and I are with it. The new phone system is more efficient, the doctor calling back is like triage at A&E, you either get a face to face appointment from it or a referral (saves taking time off work to be told they will you refer you etc) And as for the flu clinic! Wow! A well oiled machine we virtually didn't stop moving in and out of the tent in under a minute! Give them a chance, times have changed and so must everything

I normally find it takes so long to speak to anyone when I call. And unfortunately have had bad experiences with the receptionists in the past (accused of lying, then lied to me!!)

However I was so fortunate to get an appointment for my daughters today. Luckily I dont have to phone the practice a lot but noticed today they have more options to choose from when calling and waiting for someone to pick up wasnt long either.

There was a student Dr, Adam and he was absolutly lovely!! Hopefully he will stay at this practice. We saw two other Drs whilst we were there and they were also lovely unfortunately I didn't get their names but really took the time to give advise and were so helpful. Hopefully this will continue as it was like calling and going to a different practice today (in a good way!!)

Phoned and was only on hold for 10 minutes or so and spoke to a lovely lady who explained what I needed to do. Went into the practice to drop off a form and the receptionist was SO rude and patronising and felt it was necessary to shout and bark orders at every person that came in and to myself rather than just talking to us politely.

difficult to get an appt. rude receptionists, condescending patronising GPs who apparently got through medical school despite knowing literally nothing abt mental health. and it's gonna kill people!! act like them writing you a prescription comes out their wages despite the fact that we pay for prescriptions anyway. and we pay for the NHS anyway!! so demeaning, they will make you jump through hoops. i think it's disgusting. what a foul and unprofessional way to treat people who have anxiety and depression. yuck. i will be switching to a different practice. i hope they all get sacked

Next to impossible to get an appointment when you need one, and a bunch of folks who can't seem to care less. And GPs and staff wonder why people are always upset with them.

Update: Still absolutely horrendous. Can’t get an appointment even for emergencies and receptionist(s) who can’t be any less helpful or compassionate.

Can never get an appointment. Got offered a phone appointment from a Nurse so I thought what have i got to loose surely its better than nothing...

He called, reviewed my notes from years ago and said ill prescribe you the same medication for 30 days - but I'm having different symptoms from previous.

Non the less I said ok, he said he will send the Prescription to Tesco .... queued in Tesco for 30 mins to be told they haven't received any prescription for me at all....

called the surgery again today to be told by the receptionist he's not point anything at all on my notes, so now I have to wait another 8 days for another .... TELEPHONE appointment in pain.

I called the practice about 8am and I had a FACE TO FACE appointment two hours later. The doctor was very thorough, engaging and professional. In the 15 years my wife and I have been with the practice we have always received an excellent service!
