Southmead Surgery

I can say with absolute confidence they are simply outstanding. As long as the general public respect the staff and how difficult their job can be, you can expect an excellent level of customer service in return here, and one that makes me feel proud enough to share my thoughts. I have never had a problem getting an appointment at Southmead Surgery and the one I couldn't make I simply rang out of respect & courtesy to cancel. If you are reading this review I want to offer you assurance this surgery team are simply the best I've ever experienced in 43 years.

I have been a patient at Southmead for many years and would like to state how nicely I have always been dealt with.
From the lovely practise manager, surgery secretary, reception staff
and of course all of the medical team, I have always been treated with courtesy, kindness and understanding.
Many of the above have often gone out of their way to help me.
I really cant thank them all for their professionalism and kindness shown to me over the years.

Really pleased with the service we've received from Southmead Surgery.

In general I've found everyone to be friendly, knowledgeable and helpful - there are the occasional slightly curt conversations, but having worked with the public for many years I appreciate that we all have those kind of days.

Since having our daughter a few weeks ago we've been much more frequent visitors and really do complement the team on the service - in particular Dr Hirani and Jenny on reception have been excellent.

My only two pieces of critical feedback would be:

1) When I was younger I remember seeing the same GP at every visit, which meant you had a continuity of care. That's really missing these days (I appreciate that makes me sound like a grumbly old git, but it's true) - that isn't exclusive to this surgery though.

2) The booking system is also not unique to the surgery, but it's a really horrible way to try and get to see a doctor. We've got a new-born who often keeps us up until the early hours; so waking at 8.30am to queue and try and get an appointment is painful. I'm sure there are better ways to book and I'm certain that in the past you could book in advance to see a doctor. I appreciate this is probably due to rampant underfunding of the NHS, but worth mentioning.

I have been with Southmead surgery over 4 years now and am very happy. The reception staff are extremely helpful and generally very cheerful. The nurses who have given both my young children their baby immunisations have been very patient and kind. The doctors are all excellent! They really go above and beyond to help and I always feel in safe hands.

I have only recently registered with this surgery but I have received such amazing care and attention that was sadly lacking over 30 years with my previous practice in another Health Authority. Every one I have spoken to has been so helpful, Doctors, Receptionists, and all other clinicians involved. Response to all enquiries and appointments etc has been exceptionally fast and efficient. Everyone always seems to take the time to really listen to what you have to say. I have nothing but positive comments to pass on to all staff at Southmead. Thank you.

Fantastic surgery, been with them nearly 20 years now and they let me stay when I moved to Langley 5 years ago. Can usually call from work which is 10 mins away and get an appointment same day if I need anything. Surgery manager and reception staff very helpful and all the doctors are fantastic.

Really refreshing experience compared to my previous x2 doctors surgeries. The doctor I dealt with was extremely kind and she was interested in what I had to say. I have got appointments quickly and have always been dealt with efficiently. Would recommend highly
