The Market Square Surgery

Puzzled as to why some reviews are negative. During the last 20 years I have used services at this practice and found receptionists as well as doctors very helpful and polite ( star rating 5). Here is an example;
On two occasions I saw Dr Roach who correctly diagnosed the problem and
provided the appropriate treatment. Something that my consultant didn't manage to do.

When ever I have had interactions with the doctors they have been very helpful and professional. Unfortunately the reception staff are of the lowest quality, they are rude and very unhelpful. I rarely need the doctor and when I do I dread calling, they are abrupt and rude when you don’t seem to know their procedures? Why would I? Loud sighs over the phone I can almost hear the eye rolls over the phone. They have a challenging job I get that but the way they talk to people is honestly not necessary at all. They can’t wait to get off the phone and barley explain anything leaving you feeling that you might not have the right prescription etc and don’t put you at ease in anyway. Total lack of empathy or care, it’s a shame because as I’ve said the medical staff there are always very good. If you are looking for a doctors surgery that treats you like a person and makes you feel listened to avoid this place at all costs.

Personally have never encountered any issues with any of the reception staff. All I will say is avoid ‘Dr’ Roberts. I’m not going to go into too much detail here, but long story short, it’s pretty likely my brother’s ex partner would still be here if he hadn’t suggested that she was essentially making things up and not in pain. Whenever I have to arrange a visit my GP, I unfortunately have to speak to him as he is always the one to call me regarding my concern. He is very arrogant, he has no concern, consideration, nor care in the world for your well-being and quite frankly should not be in that position. Incompetent, rude, condescending, useless, are all understatements regarding my experience with him. Please steer clear of this man.

Last Saturday, 17/9/22, I attended for my annual flu vaccination, and was so impressed by the efficiency shown, ( I did not even have time to get my book out before being called in!) It was quickly, efficiently and painlessly given and I was out within 2 minutes of entering. I would like to praise the staff and thank them for coming in to work on a Saturday and ensuring that it was a pleasant experience.

I am disabled and have to use my mobility scooter inside the
surgery. It is very awkward to manoeuvre my scooter when
going for a blood test mainly because it is on the 1st. floor
but also getting in and out of the lift.
There should more thought given to disabled whereby we
could have a blood test on the ground floor.

I'm so pleased I joined this surgery. Both the receptionists and doctors are lovely and very professional. I've not had any issues making appointments and my experience has been much better at this surgery than others.

Arrived 8.30am at reception. Got appointment for 2.30pm.
Can't ask for anymore than that.
Seen same day.
Always pleasant staff.

Have been trying to get through for over an hour, was sat on the ringing queue waiting to speak to someone for 35mins the first call I made today before I got through, only for no one to actually answer the phone and then get kicked out of the call. I called back instantly and waited another half an hour only for the exact same thing to happen. This isn’t the first instance of this happening either. So frustrating!!!
