You can't get to see the Dr you're registered with - Dr Mark Hughes for me. Unable to get an appointment with any Dr - which they say is an option if yours doesn't have availability, even when phoning through twice a day at the specific times given to you.
Phone rings forever and when you do get through to the unhelpful/rude secretaries/phone/admin staff, they either fob you off with "all appointments are taken, go the walk-in centre" or just put the phone down as soon as you get through.
Today 07/11/22 is the final straw and I'm leaving the surgery.
The previous time to today's issue, I ended up requiring an operation due to not be able to get an appointment and the ailment I had at the time had gone past treatment, which the GP could have given me and resolved the issue straight away... Which he told me when I had to get a referral from him to have the operation 3 weeks after I tried to book an appointment!
Even a simple change of hay fever medication turned into a battle, and I now no longer get prescription tablets from the Dr's as it's easier to just try different brands of hay fever tablets from Boots every season that to book an appointment to be assessed for stronger medication.
I do wonder how people manage to actually get an appointment here... And if the rage with each contact you make to them is equal to mine?!
All I can say is my mental health isn't going to be affected any further by them and I've fingers crossed on a new surgery that I'll be registering with will be more helpful.
So, in closing... Off to the walk-in centre I go again!
It’s far too easy to critique negatively try and have an objective view on what the staff have to experience on a daily basis.
Please be kind and more importantly be grateful we have such great care in the UK.
