Hands down the BEST thing I have ever done for myself. The professionalism of the staff was top notch, especially Lee and Oscar who went above and beyond to help and educate me through my entire experience. It is truly the most amazing feeling waking up in the morning and being able to see and not have to worry about glasses or contacts anymore. I did a lot of research prior to making my final decision and choosing Optical Express Southampton was a clear choice with all the positive reviews, professionalism, cleanliness, and safety procedures they have in place. My entire life has changed for the better and I would 100% recommend them for your eye surgery needs.

I can’t fault the professionalism, attention to detail and care provided by Optical Express Southampton. I had laser surgery to have multi-focal lenses fitted last week, and my eyesight is now amazing - better than 20/20 - and glasses are a thing of the past! All of the staff are friendly, highly knowledgeable and helpful and the whole experience was exceptional. Thank you.

I’ve just been to Optical Express in Southampton for an assessment on whether I’m suitable for laser or lens surgery to correct my vision. The whole experience was beautifully handled by the staff. Rebecca was absolutely brilliant. She took me through all the preliminary checks and eye photos. There is some amazing technology involved in the full and thorough checks they do. The musical chairs syndrome in the examination room was a light hearted bit of fun as we moved from machine to machine for all the checks.
Far more in depth than usual opticians checks are done as they are potentially looking at surgery on your eyes.
I must say the experience was not unpleasant in any way. After my preliminary checks Rebecca handed me over to the optometrist, who again, was very thorough and professional. Explaining everything clearly as she went along.
This thorough examination has uncovered very early stages of an eye condition called Fuchs Dystrophy in my left eye. For this alone I am so glad the check up was so detailed. Whilst nothing to worry about at the moment, there I things I can do to slow down the onset of what can become a vision impairment now that I know about it. Advice of what I can do was given straight away. Even though I’m not suitable for laser or lens surgery I want to say a big thank you to all at Optical Express Southampton.

I had the Lens Replacement surgery and from beginning to end Optical Express have been exemplary in their customer care. The surgery its self was done quickly and professionally and the aftercare was great. My sight is now 20/20 or better!

Whole experience of lens replacement surgery was extremely good from start to finish. Every member of the staff was polite, considerate and caring. All my eye scans at the assessment stage were emailed to me automatically (not sure how useful that was, but it was impressive!) All that was done to me was explained carefully first, and the actual procedure was painless and not nearly as scary as I was expecting. I had a checkup the following day and there are further checks later.
I would certainly recommend this particular branch to anyone for a good experience of eye surgery. And finally two days on from surgery and my sight is brilliant and I’m thrilled!

This was most definitely the best thing I’ve ever done! I’m only on day 4 and my distance vision is absolutely brilliant, my near vision is catching up, light sensitivity has more or less gone, but still wearing sunglasses to protect my eyes. Surgery was far less scary than I thought it would be, ALL the staff are so caring and patient, they really do care, the only thing I will say, wear something warm in surgery, lying there for 20 mins or so, it gets really cold! 🥶 if still deliberating DO IT! It really is life changing, my quality of life has improved immensely, I’ve just given 8 pairs of glasses to charity so other people can benefit the joy of sight as well!

I had lens replacement on Tuesday 25th October and things couldn’t have gone better.
From arrival through to surgery and departure the extensive team in Southampton that saw me through my nervy experience were all excellent.
The surgery is a very strange experience but it was painless and lasted only around 20 minutes.
The outcome for me was amazing! During the first day I experienced some discomfort and minor headaches but paracetamol and eye drops did their job.
I saw halo’s on the first evening after surgery but by the following morning these had gone and my vision was already 20:20 and I could read and see long distance - the surgery already seemed well worth it - truly life changing!
I am on day 3 and whilst my eyes are a little sore it is nothing major and totally manageable.
Having the surgery was a big decision but is also one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Thanks to the whole team at Optical Express Southampton for the life changing treatment and fantastic service you have given me!

The consultation went well. I was very nervous about the whole process. Every step of the consultation was explained, particularly how they checked your eye health. This part of the consultation was definitely worth it. Just to know how your eyes are. The outcome of the consultation was clearly explained with many chances to ask questions throughout. There was no pressure to commit to further treatment if you were not comfortable with it.
The staff were friendly and considerate.
The only slight negative that there was a bit on a wait to be seen on arrival, but once the consultation started it was pretty slick.
