Useless pharmacy. The pharmacists need to learn that if they want to have an opinion on what medication people shouldn't take, making personal judgements in public on people they have neither the knowledge, background or the education and training to back up, they should have worked harder and become doctors. Their job should be to dispense medicine and offer support and guidance on medical knowledge where asked. Not try to publicly humiliate people by making fleeting remarks and suggestions about an individual's personal and private medical background, of which they have no understanding and clearly have no medical accreditation to do. 'You shouldnt be taking that medication for that long, its over ten years now" "she needs to be weined off that now" wow, thanks alot for that? So how exactly does that help? What are your suggestions then instead doctor? Forget about the fact that this medication was changed down recently from a stronger one, so you aren't even capable of reading the information in front of you. They need to understand that medication is given by the g.p who has the certified knowledge and experience, as well as the full details of the patients medical background and any tests they have administered, it is not selected by the patient from a vending machine and therefore it should not be up to the pharmacist to tell someone that they should not be on that medication. I found this utterly disgusting and an outrage. If they really feel that way and want to help the patient they should take the time to go and see the doctor and give their opinion to them instead. But I think we all know what the result of that would be.....1) it's none of your business 2) you have no qualification to even make any suggestion and 3) stick to doing the job you are paid to do. Nobody wants to be on medication longer than they have to, but unless your capable of coming and telling us the diagnosis and solving the medical issue that no other g.p has managed to do for over 10 years, then your opinions and limited knowledge is useless and serves no purpose what so ever. We have decided to move away from the valleys area as we are totally disgusted with the poor level of medical support we have been given both from the pharmacist and the surgeries in the area. Which have only closed more and more and become increasingly difficult to access in the 4 years since being here. I was told by the pharmacist in question that the surgery we are currently in, which isn't anywhere near our house as our local surgery closed, is open everyday, after I told them how hard it is to get an appointment and that they are a part time surgery. He later told my girlfriend on the phone, when she suggested she had spoken to the surgery and they would get her prescription ready by Friday at the latest, they are closed Friday? There is no clearer way to demonstrate a lack of capability and professionalism. People in the valleys area often complain about how bad the area is in general and establishments like this are one of the factors that the valleys are in such a poor state. It's tragic. I have, on several occasions arrived at this pharmacy within the opening hours posted both online and their own shop window, only to find them closed. They just come and go as they please and if they had customers that relied on their business for normal retail reasons, rather than pure necessity and lack of choice, they would have been closed down a long time ago. As someone who runs a store and business, I can tell you that they have no clue on how to do business at all. Very disappointing. Thankfully we will not have to put up with this level of treatment much longer as we are moving to a an area in the next month that, from my own personal experience, treats patients as they should be treated. Hopefully we can get a better level of service and a g.p that can solve the issue or atleast medicate correctly and with some level of organisation if not. We will be taking this further and reporting this incident to the proper authorities. Appalling behaviour and very sad.
