Durrington Post Office

After arriving at the post office at 4:15 needing to get my new car taxed that I had just bought.
I found myself being asked to leave at 5pm as they were closing with my vehicle tax not completed.
They are completely incompetent and made me call the dvla repeatedly as they could not work out how to tax my vehicle.
I was accused of stealing a bic biro when going outside to fill out the chassis number after a customer in the queue gave me a pen to use as they were most un helpful.
They don't know which forms to use or that the dvla has an internal number for them to use if they have difficulty.
The Asian manager is a rude, obnoxious and insanely disgusting mannered man and he took great pleasure in knowing that he might have caused me to be fined for not having tax.
I was left having to drive my van home with no tax because of his actions.
This morning I went to a different post office and it took no longer than a minute with the exact same documents.
I would only go back here to brick the windows if I was that way inclined!!!!!

I use this post office a lot. They are always friendly and helpful.
I post alot of small Ebay items with no problems and its a reasonable price.
If anything royal mail prices are rather expensive on large item where I then use another courier

Inaccessible for wheelchairs and prams. There is a botton just outside the door(to push for assisstance), but what if the person is in a wheelchair and unable to stand, how the heck are they suppose to push that button?🤔 Use the force, I guess.

Anyways, the shop/post office also advertise that they open for 9am. But the owner/manager is always late to open. He would arrive 9 on the dot, but would not open until 5 to 10 mins later. Should change their opening time to 9:10am not 9am.

Made my mother attach a customs declaration to a birthday card to me in Europe (should go as normal letter post). Three weeks later it was returned to her. You don't need a customs declaration for greetings cards to any country.

Took a small package to be posted which required a print at post office label. It was oddly shaped so left sealing it till label was printed at PO and securely attached. Counter woman refused to give me a short 9 inch strip of cellotape to do this even though she was doing nothing except standing waiting for a customer when I entered, PO was completely empty. But she felt the need to tell me they process 1000s of pieces of post each day and therefore doesn't have cellotape to give me. She didn't do anything wrong but was annoyingly unhelpful and officious. Don't you just hate it when someone keeps on addressing you as 'sir' even though they knew they are being unhelpful which she did. So sad when someone can't use appropriate judgement or know when to give leeway to customers. I just about managed to remained polite through gritted teeth.

Mindless instructions from lady who said to go behind to fill the address on envelope while her shop was empty and there was no people in.

I have been using them for years now & they have always been most helpful, patient & kind, not only towards me, but my little side kick Grandson who is mostly in tow when I visit...
During Covid, they where calm & organised & went above & beyond to make sure my parcels still got where they should as soon as possible & also gave me great advice on other PO's & parcel distribution 👍
