The actual cafe is really lovely. Things like outdoor seating and a quiet area really help when you have an autistic child, or it would if people didn't take 3 children from toddler age group into the quiet room! The food has been hit and miss.
First visit was a busy mother's day. 5 people ordered various things. Pizza was lovely. Garlic bread was gorgeous but at £6.95 a bit expensive. Chips were awful. Never had teenage lads refuse to eat chips before! We had various jacket potatoes chilli, pulled pork and a plain cheese. The actual potatoes were really lovely. No microwaves involved here! I'd have rated them 10/10 but for 2 issues. Size of portion of the topping. And my bug bear of dressing on the salad, especially if it's managed to get into the topping. Mustard dressing in pulled pork must be an acquired taste?
Next visit was 4 people.
I jacket with chilli, 2 jackets with cheese, I pepperoni pizza, 2 garlic breads and a side of fries. I always make sure I'm fair by ordering the same dish if it was awful the first time in case it's a glitch. We had stopped on our way to bring son to uni, and we have been regulars for over 25+ years. So it's a place we love. Yesterday was a bit of a disaster.
Peperroni pizza. There is a reason the meat is put on top of the cheese. Pepperoni is very oily. So having it directly on the base meant all that oil soaked through the base and was literally dripping off. The cheese way then just sliding off. With a lot of inginuety, a spare plate and napkins we sort of salvaged it. Son declared it might be ugly but it tasted good. Then came garlic bread. Heaven. Took the leftovers home because my daughter is autistic with an issue around food due to covid. Any food she will eat is considered a gift. Its a shame no one could help us find out how it was made.
Then jackets. Again the actual taste was really lovely. But the temperature wasn't enough to melt the cheese.
Coffee is a nice decent one for a cappuccino. Soft drinks are ok.
Dessert isn't like it used to be. We miss the old days where hot puddings etc were on offer. But the chocolate Fudge cake was apparently OK. Which is praise from a teen.
I hope that gives you an honest review. We saw lots of meals that looked very nice.. I'm not sure if Sunday roasts have gone for good now?
My one from last point is accessibility. Quite a good open area inside. Not as easy outside as benches are the fixed type so no wheelchair spaces.
Last point I swear! Staff. Need education about sunflower lanyard and its original purpose. No its not for masks!!
We will return again. I'd like to give them a fair chance.

A nice restaurant, plenty of seating in the main restaurant and some break out areas, one is a quiet room. Good place for everyone including families. Prices seem fair. Breakfast menu very good with choices, we had coffees and some cakes, Chelsea buns are amazing and worth a treat. Lots of outside seating and some under cover. Plenty of free parking.

They've improved the restaurant here, the flow of people is better. The pizza is amazing, cooked in a pizza oven so the base is gorgeously crispy. The staff are really friendly and when my son accidentally dropped a tray and smashed a plate they were very kind and made him feel better as he was shocked when it happened. There are new toilets, so there are more than before and also baby changing facilities.

Always high quality food and great vegan breakfasts. The quiet area is my favourite eventhough not always quiet as this place is super busy most times

Decent cafe/restaurant, service is brisk, friendly, very accommodating. It can get really busy here, when it's busy you'll be allocated a table, then queue to order from the menu, you'll collect drinks behind the cashier, and then wait at your table for your order. There's plenty of seats, lots of child seats, a quiet room, toilets etc. Food is OK, pizzas are good but I feel its a little expensive, there's a kids menu which is just child portions, no included drinks. They have lunch bags, refrigerated drinks, soups, cakes, slices, scones, etc. They have outside seating which is good when the weather is good.

We called in for lunch today and I have to say we were very disappointed with it. The chips were cold and so dry we couldn't eat them, it was almost like they'd been cooked several times. The pizza was OK but the festive ploughman's was anything but festive. The tea and coffee were fine and the cafe was very clean. Unfortunately we won't be back.

This place looks amazing and modern. The decor is perfect, and the layout is exceptional. A great shame about the food. Chips raw and pies cold. I did get an apology from the manager and refund but would have preferred to have nice food instead. I'm hoping it was just a bad day, and I'll try them again soon.

There didn't seem like a huge choice for toddlers/kids to eat, but we eventually went with the 'Lunchbag' option where you choose 5 (quite healthy) items plus a drink for £4.95. It went down a treat!! I had the tuna melt panini, which came with gorgeous coleslaw & a side salad. I was very impressed as it was hot & delicious. (The pizzas looked amazing too!!) The service was fast and friendly. Lots of natural light and plenty of seating. Definitely recommend.
