This store is fantastic. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and pay attention. Possibly the best place to get trainers and sports clothes for miles around. My wife had insoles made there with a new machine that can measure the problems with your feet and then you can try them with new trainers.
Good parking and a new store with high end products. It's been a while but if Sports Direct do more stores like this then the high street might be on the up. Well done guys you scored high with this one.

Compared to the monstrosities of all other Sports Direct stores I've ever been to, this one is genuinely nice inside. It's modern, bright and spacious - the exact opposite of their normal stores.

I have however docked it a star because a member of staff asked me to not take any photos (I uploaded some anyway).

Absolutely poor customer service! I have been to a lot of sports direct stores around the UK, and this lakeside store is the worst one I’ve been to. Some of the staff their were unreasonable and impolite, especially the store manager who didn’t even look like a store manager at the tills wearing some tracksuit, was very rudely approachable and he seemed like he was busy and in a rush. I also felt a bit of racism as well, because with the other (white) customers the staff were showing more attention and care to them, whereas when it came to us they just wanted to get it done with and out of the way, with no real intent to really wanting to help us out, just because we’re Asian. I would suggest to Sports Direct, that they recruit employees that are of different ethnicities and religions and not just white people, but most importantly the employees should be polite, patient and willing to provide good customer service towards customers every time. Even a little greeting and an offer to help customers would most certainly cheer customers and make them wanting to come back to the store. So I highly request Sports Direct to review the whole staff department including the store manager as well and see to it whether they are fit to be working for Sports Direct.

Worst experience ever. Better to choose the Decathlon 100 metres away or anything else where no flegmatics, no hidden charges waiting for you.
The assistants pass from one to other until you find someone really knows the section you need so it took a long time to finish.
Parking cost was £100 even if we spent hundreds in the store. There are signs but are small, tuck away between the parknig cars, no sign at the entrance. It's a clear shiny rip off. They should do better job then no need to gather money this way...
When complained, the store manager played the busiest person in the world who don't have time for the customers. Now it's clear, what else can we expect from the assistants...
How they dare to ask for this unconscionable extra for parking from their (EX)customers at all?!
Outrageous.
Keep out...

Staff is unnecessary rude. I went to buy a pair of shoes and I tried some on and needed a bigger size. 1 size up were to big I asked for half and staff said they don’t do halves even though it says they have available. I asked her to check and she got fully annoyed with me, she said I should wear heel pads instead. So I gave up on this pair.
I tried another model and I needed different size than displayed. She started literally shouting at me that is no point she will bring me a bigger size up as they are all the same.
Is like who’s the rudest person, apply for a job in sports direct lakeside

if you spend £169 on Hugo Boss shoes you will get a better with £20 Shoes, my mistake I bought shoes for my friend's wedding but the wedding date changed due to lockdown and never worn shoes in 28 days to try and replace them if any problems. After a few months, I start to wear and noticed shoe color and fabric went off due to I worn shoes on a rainy day. I requested to replace sports direct and the staff was so rude to me and refused to replace me due to over 28 days. Even if it's over 28 days £169 shoes not going off in few times worn such cheap quality. It's a joke when you spend £169 on shoes and you will get quality like £20 for shoes. It's fake shots sold my sports direct, Hugo Boss never compromises with quality. Very bad experiences. I'm going to say bye to sports direct.

Went into the shop to look for a pair of football boots for my grandson. Waited at least 10 minutes for someone to serve on the section. Then asked a lady who wasn't doing anything next to the tills she sent out a request which was ignored. Then I approached another member of staff who again said he would send out a request which again was ignored. If it wasn't for my grandson I would have left! A girl said she would put out a request..ignored. I asked a man dressed in grey who was extremely rude but made someone come over to serve me.
After such a long and horrible time in the store they had no football boots in my grandsons size.
Ordered online but I wouldn't order from Sports Direct.

Nice large store with huge range of shoes.
Went on a quieter day/time a found store to be understaffed and some staff very rude. I probably don't blame them if store is understaffed.
