A year ago Christmas l had a Today is the Day diary which needs a new insert diary every year. I tried there website they didn't have the size. I ended up going to stores and finely found the right diary insert at Uckfield Smith's. Someone had returned the diary, l brought it for £9.99. Start to write on it only to find that the previous person had written in it. When l went back to Uckfield to show the used diary was told l could only have£5 as it didn't gave a bar code on it.
Think twice before buying any insert diary from W H Smith.

Very nice range of products and friendly staff. It might be a bit difficult to find parking nearby if you don't know the area.

Probaby the best selection of specialist magazines available via a high street retailer.
A bit pricey of things such as wrapping paper but there are deals to be had.
Now they have a post office in store!
Only issue i have is the occasional lack of staff.

I'm old enough to remember buying vinyl LPs and cassettes in "Smiths" (as those in the know call it). It was an essential part of any shopping trip back in the day but they now seem dated and directionless. WHSmiths stores were recently named as giving the worst customer service, and this one is sadly no exception. Avoid at the weekend when the teenage staff make a point of ignoring you as they carry on their conversations with each other and muck about.

Expensive for what it sells, you'd get everything cheaper elsewhere but it is certainly conveniently located as it's situated in the centre of the town so if you're already out and don't mind paying a little more than you would online it's perfectly fine.

Shop is fine but the staff in the post office could do with being more obliging!! What happened to good old customer service?

Super happy with the service, the lady at checkout was knowledgeable and diligent, and it resulted in me buying something I wasn't looking for but found I needed.
The lad helping at the post office does an excellent job too - so it's easily 5 stars from me!

Maggie is delightful, nothing is too much trouble. Always helpful and manages to keep busy etc.
